Chapter 22

Kai POV*

Letting out a yawn, I glanced at Ace with a hum seeing him look around the hall we was walking done setting a target on the kitchen for some much needed and well earned food.

"What is it Ace? You seem tense." I asked him as I grabbed a drink tossing him one.

"Thanks and I was thinking. It's been pretty quiet. Do you think Max really got Scarlet, Amory, and Xanthe in a room together?" I closed my eyes pinching the bridge of my nose as I caught Alex's scent near by.

"Crap, Alex?" I called before seeing him walk into the room.

"Kai, dude was up with having me put a spell on your training building?" He asked me as I looked at Ace who started cursing under his breath before we both took off outside just as Max came running inside.

"I did it! I locked them up together!" Max yelled as he tripped landing at our feet.

"I can't believe he really did it, dude how stupid are you?" Ace said and I was starting to question that my self.

"If they are locked up then why are you running?" I asked him and he shook his head grabbing my leg.

"I don't know how she did it but she got out." Max said as he looked like the man wanted to cry.

"Who got out?" Ace asked as we glanced at each other then back at Max.

"Scarlet." He whispered her name only for us to be hit with the scent of blood lust.

"Max get your ass back here right now!" You could hear Scarlet's hiss before she even appeared in the room with a look more deadly than the one she had when her and Emilio was attacked.

"King Kai please save me from your evil mate." Max begged me as Scarlet looked at us.

"Alex."

"Hold on Lettie, I had know idea you guy would get locked in there. Max called saying Kai needed a spell." Alex said holding up his hands as she eyed him showing her fangs at him.

"Take it down." Was all she said to him and he only took a step back from us before mumbling something then disappearing shortly after as I heard a grow before Amory busted into the door with Xanthe running up behind him.

"Dad do something!" She told me and I only looked down at Max.

"What did you do this time?" I asked him but of course he didn't look up at me.

"I might have told a tiny little harmless lie tricking them into getting together." Max said only to jump as Scarlet lifted him by the shirt.

"Harmless? You told me Kai was gone Ace and Emilio had gotten into a fight and that Amory was hurt in cross fire."

"He told me vampire's was spotted and that bout mom and Xan was missing." Amory growled before I glanced at Xanthe. Even my own dragon was getting upset hearing what they heard.

"How did he get you princess?" I asked and she looked at me before glancing at her brother.

"He said Amory was hurt and stuck under a bunch of weights." Xan said seeming more calm than upset unlike Scar and Amory who looked as if they was planing Max's murder.

"King Kai my dragon insist that I tell you he was fully against it and had nothing to do with...such a stupid plan." He told me and we all agreed it was very stupid. Everyone around here knew not to mess with a mother dragon and her young yet what ever made Max test Scarlet sure back fired.

"Max give me a good reason not to drain you dry." Scarlet said and I found my self liking her protective mother side and was almost turned on by it, almost, but even I knew it was never good for Scar to be mad.
