Chapter 5

Kai POV*

As I felt the sun hit my face from the window I went to stretch but stopped as I felt arms tighten around my ribs. The second I looked down Scarlet's scent filled my nose. What I saw when I looked down was a sight I could never forget or get used to. The sun shined in her hair and on her face giving Scarlet a glow that just, well it just made her glow. She had her head on my chest and looked peaceful sleeping. Smiling I put a hand on her head and ran my hand in her hair. Scarlet's nose scrunched before she shot up in the bed and looked at me with blazing red eyes while I just looked at her calmly.

"Kai?"

"It's just me Scar...it's just me." She was cautious and I couldn't blame her. She sighed looking around before looking at me again before laying back down next to me as I rapped my arms around her.

"Kai have you sensed anything?" Scarlet asked looking up at me.

"Know Scar and I must have fallen asleep with you but I can tell you this." I said to her putting a hand on her back as she sat up on her elbow's to look at me.

"What is it Kai?" She always seem so curious.

"Waking up next to you...is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen and I seen the morning sun above the clouds many times."

"And a full moon?" I noticed a little dazzle in her eyes at the idea.

"Even that isn't as breath taking as when I looked at you after waking up." She smiled at me for a moment before laughing a little as she went to get up.

"You truly know how to play your words Mr. King of dragons...shoot." Getting off the bed Scarlet ran off to what looked like her closet before coming back out with a uniform dress.

"What's up Scarlett?" I asked as I sat on the edge of her bed watching her run into the bathroom before I could hear water.

"Im late it's my turn to open the cafe and im late, again."

"But you own it." I said kind of confused why it mattered when I soon heard the water turn off and her head popped out with water running from her hair.

"That makes it worse Kai. I can pop you over there with me if you want unless your going to fly your self." Scarlet was quick to change and was now walking out in a simple red uniform dress with her logo that stopped just at her knees as she pulled her now dried hair into a messy low ponytail.

"Another option is I could give you a ride there."Saying that I got up from the bed walking over to her and taking her hands in mine as her eyes widened.

"What?! Y-You mean like ride on your dragons back?! K-Kai I can't do that. It's fine I rather drive." She said taking a step back but I put my hands on her hips looking her in the eye.

"Scar, I give you my word as a dragon and your mate that I wont drop you or let you fall." She shot me a skeptical look then rolled her eyes putting her hands on my chest leaning forward slightly.

"Fine, but know loops. If I wanna do loops going upside down I will go hit an roller coaster ride at a amusement park." Smiling with a nod I laughed a little.

"Deal, I should probably tell you though. I never had someone ride my dragons back before." Her eyes widened with a little worry on her face as I laughed again pulling her out side.

"Oh God, Kai are you sure about this?" It was clear as day Scarlet was nervous while as I went to the middle of the yard while she stayed close to the house.

"Come on Scar, if you don't trust anyone put a little in me...I gave you my word didn't I?" She hesitated but still slowly walked over as I shifted and looked down at her with my dragon eyes. Scarlet stopped after she saw my dragon and seemed to be looking over his ever detail with eyes that couldn't hide amazement.
