I ignored the flirty gazes I was receiving from some girls as I made my way to my dorm.

College reminded me a lot of high school, apart from the weightier assignments and exams. Everything else was basically the same.

"Alex, Alex!" I stopped dead in my tracks as Michelle, I think, a girl from my class jumped in front of me.

Groaning internally I said," hey, what's up."

"Are you playing tonight?" She asked twirling her hair around her finger.

I frowned and nodded," I play every night."

"Oh right of course, well, are you going to the victory party?"

I shrugged," we haven't even played yet, how can we have a victory party?"

She giggled," you're so funny. See you around." She kissed my cheek and ran over to her friends who started giggling and chatting.

I wiped my cheek off on my sleeve and went to my dorm.

I lived with five other people in a suite. It was something the school did for freshmen, a way of helping us settle to college life.

My roommates were pretty cool. Two girls, Brooklyn and Megan, and three guys, Tyler, Grady, and Declan.

Declan and I almost instantly bonded over our love of sports, he honestly made me miss Drew a lot. Tyler and Grady were on the quiet side, Tyler more so because he's gay and he didn't want to be judged but we all welcomed him with opened arms while Grady was kind of a geek, in the stereotypical way, into video games and comic books but he's a cool guy really.

Brooklyn is into the arts. Her work is really good and she has two siblings, a brother her age and a baby sister. Then there's Megan. She's kind of hot, don't worry everyone I only have eyes for Jess. Megan's a free spirit if you will. She goes with the flow but she does it her own way.

"Anyone home?" I called stepping in.

Tyler stepped into the living room from the kitchen," just your favorite person in the whole world." He grinned.

Chuckling I said," you and I both know who my favorite person in the whole world is."

"True," he poured briefly," speaking of, you have a box in your room from said person."

I frowned," alright. Thanks T."

I patted his shoulder and went to my room. I luckily didn't have to share with anyone. Brooklyn and Megan shared rooms just like Grady and Declan while Tyler and I had our own rooms.

I sat my book bag by my desk and sat on the bed, picking up the box in the process. The box was indeed addressed to me and the return address was NYU, where Jess was.

I used my key to open up the box and smiled instantly.
