A/N: So its Christmas, I figured I could post early for you guys. Enjoy☺️
It's been two weeks since my last date with Jess, and our conversation. We've been on 6 dates, two of them were double dates with Erin and Livy, and we've slept together like 8 times.
Her and Abbie are good friends and JJ loves her as much as she loves him.
I had lunch with CeCe and Nick and they told me that they had set up a meeting with the social worker to see Markus. The first meeting they had with him was slightly tense but they asked me and Jess to sit in with them for the second meeting, Jess had to work therefore she couldn't make.
***The Meeting***
I adjusted the collar of my navy blue button up and tucked it into my black dress pants.
CeCe took a deep breath as her leg shook up and down.
"CeCe," I said placing a hand on her knee," I know you're nervous. Relax. He's a great kid, as I'm sure you found out. Just deep breaths."
She nodded and took three deep breaths, Nick holding her hand on the table top, as Markus and the social worker came into the cafe.
He smiled at me and I smiled back.
"Um, I'm not sure if it's too soon or not but," he scratched the back of his neck," can I have a hug?" He looked at CeCe and Nick.
She stood up and wrapped her arms around his middle. He was a few inches taller than her, standing at 5'8'', so he wrapped his arms around her neck.
They pulled away and he man hugged Nick.
We all sat down, ordered, and talked.
Unlike the first meeting, where CeCe and Nick questioned Markus, he questioned them. Asked about their jobs, why they wanted to adopt, why they hadn't had kids of their own.
"Why me?" He asked leaning back in his seat.
CeCe smiled at me," Alex here, told us about you. All good things."
Markus raised a brow at me," like?"
"I told them how driven you are. How smart you are. I told them that all you needed was some encouragement, and a little tough love. Because you're a great kid Markus." I said leaning forward.
He nodded," you always say that. Usually right after I do something stupid."
"Well, you're not stupid, you're a kid. Kids do stupid stuff but you're a good kid, and you're smart. People make mistakes, even adults." I explained.
We talked a little more and then CeCe and Nick spoke.
"Markus sweetie, there is one condition that you probably won't be okay with." Nick said unsurely.
CeCe wasn't looking in anyone's eyes. Just down at the table.
Markus asked what.
"We live in Oklahoma. And if things go smoothly between us-"
Markus chuckled," you want me to move there?"
They nodded.
"I've been in eight foster homes. Three different states. Moving isn't an issue for me. And if things go swimmingly, it'd be nice to have a permanent place. A home."
CeCe released a breath and smiled," thank god."
CeCe and Nick left the table to speak with the Social Worker and Markus turned to me.
"So what's your relation to Nick and CeCe?" He asked.
I chuckled," I'm dating their daughter."
