Everyone had gone home but me. I figured I could spend a day in New York, sight see and all.

I sadly had no idea how to get around town.

After showering I threw on some grey, skinny cargo pants, and after I stepped into my black combat boots someone knocked on the door before I could put a shirt on.

"Hello," I said opening the door.

Jess smiled," uh, hey, sorry to just drop in but I thought maybe we could, ya know, hang. As friends or acquaintances."

Her eyes traveled down my body, lingering on my abs, before snapping back up to my face.

I did need a city guide, and it would suck to be here and not know anyone. And hanging out with Jess seemed cool.

"Yeah, sure, just let me finish getting changed. You can wait inside of course." I stepped back and let her in.

She came in and sat on the edge of bed as I grabbed my shirt off the chair in the corner, a black thermal.

"Shit," I cursed, looking for my jacket.

Jess spoke up," um, everything okay?"

"I uh," I checked under the bed," can't find my coat."

She scoffed," I didn't think you owned one."

Narrowing my eyes at her I said," it's fucking 28 degrees outside and snowing of course I have a coat."

"Right," she cleared her throat and helped me look for it.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you." I apologized, placing my hand on her shoulder.

She stood up from her squatting position by the couch," no sweat."

Turns out I left it in the bathroom. How!?

I patted my pockets and made sure I had everything before looking at Jess," lead the way miss tour guide."

"Right this way." She pointed to the door.

I followed her out the hotel and down to her car.

It was a midnight blue Audi A4, her Christmas gift.

"So I know it's cold and all but I was thinking I could show you Prospect Park and maybe the Botanical Gardens." She side glanced at me.

I shrugged," that's cool. I love nature."

"Yeah, I know." She smiled softly.

My phone pinged and I looked down at it.

'Hey Turtle Dove🤗. How's the Big Apple?' - Abbie

'It's alright. Haven't seen much so far🤷🏻‍♀️ but Times Square is huge🌃 What about you, how's Miami?'

Her message came back quickly, 'it's so cool. The beach is beautiful❗️🏝'

'Sweet. Wish I was there it's fucking cold here😒🌨'

'😂😂 next time Turtle Dove😘'

"We've arrived." Jess said parking the car.

I nodded, told Abbie I'd text her later, and got out the car.

We stepped through the gates of the park and I immediately shivered.

New York weather is insane.

There were a few couples here and there, some kids running around. The play structures were cleaned off as well as the soccer field and basketball courts.
