I ignored the rings of my alarm in the afternoon for about five minutes. Groaning I sat up, stretched and got ready.
My outfit consisted of dark khaki joggers, a navy blue polo, and a Yankees SnapBack. I hooked my back pack on my shoulder and left out.
Grady and Brooklyn were awake and eating breakfast, they had afternoon classes as well.
"Sup guys," they nodded," bye guys." They laughed.
I chuckled and left the suite.
Getting across campus isn't long, it's a decent walk and it helps me clear my head before class. I stepped into the building and turned to the lecture hall but stopped dead in my tracks.
'Classes moved to Hall 4D until further notice.'
I groaned," seriously."
Turning on my heels I started my long trek to lecture hall D.
Jess' POV
I scratched my head in confusion at the case file in front of me.
"Hey Abby, can you come here for a sec." I called to my partner.
We currently had an assignment to look over a case for a man and woman having a divorce, they have a kid but we had to decide if it was safer for the child to stay with the mother, father, or both have visitation.
"What's up?" She leaned over my shoulder.
I scratched my chin," why don't we just give both parents visitation rights. The defense is obviously fighting for the father to have custody but the mother isn't unfit to raise her."
Abby nodded and looked through the file," you're right. I was just looking through the backgrounds of the mother. No legal offenses, home has always stayed fine, income is good. There is no reason to not let her have custody."
I frowned just as my alarm went off," crap. I have to get to work. I'll text you and we can get together tomorrow to finish this." I told her, gathering my things.
"Alright bye, have a nice day."
I rushed out her dorm and down the hall to mine. I threw on my black jeans, white button up shirt and black shoes. Racing off campus I took an uber to the restaurant I worked at.
I clocked in in the back and tied the red apron around my waist. Grabbing a small notepad and pen I leaned against the counter and chatted with a few cooks before getting to work.
Putting on my best smile I waited tables. Not so fun but easy and it pays well so it's all good. Hours later I clocked out and gathered my things to leave.
"Yo Jess!" I turned around and saw Lukas, a coworker and classmate, waving at me.
I waved," hey Luke."
He beamed as he walked up to me," so I was wondering, what with exams coming up, you want to study together sometime?"
I raised an eyebrow," yeah sure, as friends, cause I have a girlfriend."
"Yeah yeah as friends," he scratched the back of his neck.
