Something New

Time heals all wounds.

I started to understand that as the days went by. That quote was actually a new tattoo I had gotten.

At the time, Christmas break was a week away. A week until I see Jess again.

I wasn't sure where I would see her at. My parents, CeCe, and Nick were discussing going to Nick's winter vacation house for break.

Over the course of the past few days I spent almost all my time with my roommates, Abbie, and Jason, my boss. I had gone to Jason's house once or twice and met his wife and kid. They're a lovely family.

"Alex?" My head snapped up and I looked at my study group.

I chuckled nervously," sorry, my mind wandered. What was said?"

"We were discussing who would lead the study group after winter break since, sadly, Luis will be leaving us." Abbie said.

My eyes widened," wait what? Why?"

"Well as you know I have my bachelors and I want my masters however, I got an amazing job offer for a teaching position in Florida, and I can't pass it up." He smiled proudly.

I smiled as well," I know finding another group leader is important but I feel like throwing this man a going away party is priority here."

"No, no, that's not necessary." He waved his hand dismissively.

"Nonsense, Alex is right, you've been our group leader since the beginning, it's only proper." Chase agreed with me.

I nodded," all in favor of throwing Luis a lowkey going away party at my suite say I."

Abbie, Chase, Logan, and Maya raised their hands.

"And that's that." I playfully rubbed my hands together as if getting rid of dirt.

Luis chuckled and shook his head," lowkey right?"

"Lowkey," I nodded," I'll invite some of your theater buddies, everyone here is invited of course, and my suite mates will be there most likely."

With a sigh he nodded," fine. No funny business Alex."

I saluted.

"Alright, I think that's enough for today." He smiled and dismissed us.

I stood up and gathered my stuff.

What am I going to do today?

Megan had work, Brooklyn is volunteering at the art shop, Declan's going to be with his girlfriend, Grady has his Crown and the Flame LAN party, and Tyler would be with his boyfriend.

"Hey Alex," Abbie sidled up to me, a smile on her face.

I smiled back," sup B?"

"Um, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out with me tonight?"

I raised a brow.

"Not a date or anything, unless you want it to be." She said the last part nervously.

Thinking for a moment before nodding I said," I'd love to go out with you."

"Sweet," she beamed," um, meet me in the quad at 7."

"7 it is." I smiled and nodded before we both left and went our separate ways.

Well I'm not sure how ready I am for a date, or to be romantically involved with another girl. Truth be told my heart still belonged to Jess as much as it sucks.

She was constantly on her Instagram and Snapchat with her new girlfriend Talia. Honesty I'm not sure if it's her girlfriend but the amount of romantic, lovey dovey, kissy photos they put on their social media, well I could only assume.
