Author's Note:
Sorry if I get the dialogue wrong as I can't find a transcript (please send one to me if you can find them). Also, I'm going to be putting little funny pictures based on Vampire Knight (I've seen a lot of people do it in fanfictions) and I wanted to try it! I hope you enjoy, and if you are waiting for me to update one of my other fanfictions, I am working on them, but I'm the kind of person that needs to have multiple ones so then I don't get bored, and I tend to go around in a circle of what I'm interested in. Also, I'm sort of really proud of this one and I hope that you all enjoy it! :)Oka Ruriko's POV:
I sighed as I closed my final trunk and my Butler entered my bedroom after knocking once.
"Are you ready to go, Lady Ruriko?" He asked me, bowing slightly.
"Yes. Let's get this over with." I replied, walking past him and out of the room.
As I walked through the halls of my house... no mansion, maids bowed to me deeply, some out of respect and some out of fear.
My dear friend, Kaname Kuran, had requested that I attend a school called Cross Academy with him and some other vampires. As apart of the Night Class.
I know that he wants me to be revealed as back from the dead, and the other vampires will be deadly afraid of me. I'm not sure if that's what I want from them.
I've always just wanted to be loved, not feared.
I walked out of the mansion and to my carriage where a driver was waiting for me and my luggage was already loaded. I got in and I had my handmaiden, Midori Ruto, was sitting across from me. She was the only one who truly liked me apart from Kaname.
"Are you excited, Lady Ruriko? You'll finally be able to socialise with vampires besides your staff and Lord Kaname again." She said, smiling.
I looked into her bright green eyes, probably how she was named and kept my frown on my face. "I am not looking forward to other vampires pretending to like me, simply because I am a Pureblood, deemed to have returned from the dead."
The carriage started to move and Midori sighed, closing her eyes slightly. "Oka, people will like you there, they will admire you. I know that I instantly started to admire you when Lord Kaname first hired me as your maid."
I tsked and looked out the window, watching the countryside pass by us. We had left during the day so then I would be able to attend my first class as soon as I got there.
"No one will like me. I would bet on it." I stated.
I heard Midori giggle slightly. "I bet, that one of the vampires will fall in love with you, and you will fall in love with them."
I turned my head slightly to glare at her. "Nonsense. There's no such thing as love."
She frowned, giving me a look full of pity. I was used to receiving this look from both her and Kaname. Both of them felt sorry for me, because anything that even resembled the feeling of love, had died inside of me a long time ago, even long before I had killed my parents. I have my suspicions that that is why Kaname wants me to start socialising with other vampires, so then, my love might return to me.
We drove through the countryside until it was nearly dusk, and then we made it to a small town and as we drove through it, I could smell blood. I haven't had human blood in such a long time, Kaname was giving me horrible animal blood, then started giving me these ridiculous blood tablets.
"Lady Ruriko! Please snap out of it! We're almost at the school and your eyes are glowing red." I heard Midori's voice.
I snapped out of my trance and looked at her. "I apologise for my lack of self-control."
She gave me a soft smile. "It's alright, Oka. But just remember, there will be humans apart from Cross Academy as well, and you are not allowed to drink a single drop of their blood."
I clenched my fists and glared out the window, watching as the academy came closer. "I understand that perfectly, Midori. Kaname would surely have my head if I did."
The carriage came to a halt and the door opened, my driver holding out a hand for Midori and me to get out. Midori got out first, fixing her maid uniform and moving to the side lightly, allowing my driver to help me out of the carriage.
I looked around and saw big buildings, all a lot bigger than my mansion. I noticed a girl wearing a black school uniform with short, brown hair and big, brown eyes standing next to a boy with silver hair and slightly purple eyes.
She was smiling whereas he had quite a stoic expression on his face. I then noticed the taller male with shoulder-length brown hair and with a white school uniform on.
"Lord Kaname. How lovely to see you again." I said with a polite smile on my face as I curtsied slightly.
"Lady Ruriko. A pleasure as always." He bowed.
With both looked at each other and smirked. I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around him. The girl and boy looked shocked whereas Midori just smiled.
I pulled away. "I'm sorry for the intrusion of personal space, Lord Kaname. I haven't seen my best friend for the longest time. I couldn't help myself."
"Best friend?" I heard the girl asked.
I turned to the boy and girl and curtsied slightly. "My name is Lady Oka Ruriko, the last of my family name and a Pureblood vampire. Since you two students are here, I'm guessing you both know all about vampires."
The girl looked shocked, but the boy had the same emotionless expression.
The girl bowed to me. "My name is Yuki Cross, in the headmaster's adopted daughter."
I smiled kindly at her and looked at the boy expectantly. He huffed slightly and turned and walked away. I glared at his retreating form as the girl, Yuki, chased after him.
"Do not pay any mind to Zero. He hates us more than anyone I have ever met. Even though, he himself is a vampire." I heard Kaname say from behind me.
I sighed. "So when does the class start?"
"We'll have to get you a uniform first, Oka. I'll show you to the Moon Dorms and to your room, I'm sure Midori will be able to help you from there." He answered.
I nodded and he walked in front of me, while Midori was behind me as he led us to the Moon Dorms. I was starting to get nervous about the other vampires. What if, somehow, they know what I had done to my parents? Or they were terrified of me because of my status? Or question why I was announced as dead along with my parents?
I was so lost in my thoughts, that I hadn't realised that we had made it to the main doors of the Moon Dorms.
I stopped and Kaname turned his head slightly to look at me. "Come along now, we don't have all night."
I hesitated slightly before continuing. When we entered, there was a group of seven vampires sitting and standing in the entrance room. They all looked at us as we entered, and I put on my emotionless exterior.
"Everyone, this is Lady Oka Ruriko. She will be attending Cross Academy as part of the Night Class." Kaname said.
I gave him a pointed look and he nodded slightly.
"And this is her handmaid, Midori Ruto, she, however, will not be attending classes as a student, but as Oka's maid." Kaname continued.
I nodded slightly and looked at the vampires to see shocked looks on their faces. "It's a pleasure to meet you all. I hope that we will all get along nicely." My voice was as cold as ice and betrayed the meaning of what I had just said.
This time Kaname gave me a pointed look and I placed a polite, but fake smile on my face.
A blonde vampire came forward first, he had green eyes and a polite smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Lady Ruriko. My name is Takuma Ichijo, the Vice President of the Moon Dorms."
I curtsied slightly and he moved back, allowing a boy with reddish-brown hair and grey eyes to take his place. "My name is Senri Shiki. It's a pleasure to meet you."
He didn't even smile. I thought as he walked away.
A girl with a pocky in her mouth nodded at me. "Rima Toya." She said and followed Senri.
She was even ruder than Senri was.
A girl with light brown hair and hard brown eyes, she looked like she was glaring at me. "My name is Ruka Souen. A pleasure to meet you."
I somehow doubt that you mean that.
Next, a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes followed by another boy with orange hair and slightly orange eyes.
"I'm Hanabusa Aido. But you, my Lady, can call me Idol." The blonde said brightly.
I looked at him, my head tilted slightly to the left, confused. "In what way are you a person that I admire or look up to?"
He seemed to pout and he moved away. And the one with orange hair nodded slightly. "Akatsuki Kain. A pleasure to meet you, Lady Ruriko."
I nodded slightly, still watch Hanabusa as he pouted behind Akatsuki. He seemed interesting.
"Now that introductions are out of the way, all of you are to get ready for class. We will be leaving soon." Kaname said.
They all nodded and quickly went off in separate directions.
Kaname looked at me. "Now, as I said before, I shall lead you to your room. Midori will have the room next to yours."
I smiled genuinely at him. "Thank you, Kaname."
He nodded and led me up the stairs and through the halls to two large doors. "This will be your room," he motioned to a single door next to it, "and this is your room Midori, it is bigger than the one you had at the mansion, I hope that it is to your liking."
Midori bowed to him. "Thank you, Lord Kaname."
He nodded and walked away.
"We better be quick as to not be late, Oka," Midori said.
I nodded and entered the bedroom. It was huge, a lot bigger than the one at my mansion.
I hope that Midori's is a reasonable size.
Midori quickly found my uniform and ordered me to get out of my dress. I got out of it and took off the corset, even though they weren't a necessity anymore, my parents had always forced me to wear one, I guess I just did it out of habit.
I quickly got changed into the white, crisp uniform of the Night Class and Midori started to brush out my long blonde hair.
"Are you sure you're still not excited about this school?" Midori asked I could practically feel the smirk on her face.
"Why do you ask?" I questioned.
"No reason. I just happened to notice that you were staring at a certain Hanabusa Aido during the introductions." She said a slightly smug tone in her voice.
I glared at nothing and didn't reply. She gave a slight giggle and started to braid my hair with skilled hands. After she was finished braiding my hair, she went over to the smallest cases of my luggage and opened it to reveal hundreds of necklaces. She pulled out a choker necklace that had a locket attached to it and clasped it around my neck.
I glared down at the necklace. "Why this one?" I asked with venom in my voice.
"Because it suits the uniform," Midori said shrugging.
I huffed and stood from my seat and walked out of my room without waiting for her. I could hear her quick footsteps follow behind me as I made my way down the stairs and back to the entrance room where only Hanabusa and Akatsuki were sitting and talking.
"Oh, Lady Ruriko. You were quick." Hanabusa stated.
I shrugged. "It doesn't take long to get ready when you already look beautiful."
Hanabusa laughed along with Akatsuki. "That sounds like something I would say, Lady Ruriko," Hanabusa stated.
I smiled at him. "Please, call me Oka."
"Oka Ruriko? I thought that the last name was just a coincidence." Akatsuki stated, staring at me intently.
I tensed slightly and gave him a cold look. "And what is that supposed to mean, Akatsuki?"
"Oka Ruriko. Daughter of Tamaki and Osana Ruriko. They both died a few years ago, apparently, their daughter did as well. Except here she is, standing in front of us." He said.
I glared at him, I could practically feel the dark aura surrounding me. "Obviously I did not die."
"Lord Kaname was the first one to discover the bodies, said they have ripped apart and were barely recognisable as people." Akatsuki continued.
In a flash, I had him by his neck and pinned against the wall. "You should not speak of things you do not fully understand, Akatsuki Kain. If could get you seriously injured one day."
"Oka!" I head Kaname's voice say.
I let Akatsuki down and Hanabusa instantly ran to him and I looked at Kaname, still glaring. "I was just giving Mr Kain here a lesson on how he should not discuss things he does not understand." I paused. "Surely you would understand that, Kaname."
He glared at me for a second. "It's almost time to go."
Akatsuki was back up on his feet and was glaring at me, while Hanabusa was giving me that look of pity I had come to despise with every inch of me.
He has no reason to pity me.
The rest of the Night Class came to the room and we all walked out, towards the gates with me beside Kaname and Midori following behind me slightly. When we reached the gate, I swore I could hear screaming and shouting from the other side.
Kaname seemed to have noticed my look of confusion. "The Day Class students, aka humans. Remember, Oka, not a single drop of blood."
I smirked at him. "What if they offer? It's rude to refuse food from someone who's offering."
"She has a point, Lord Kaname," Hanabusa said from ahead of us.
Kaname glared at Hanabusa slightly so Hanabusa quickly went back to talking to Akatsuki about something.
"Either way. Not a single drop." Kaname stated.
I sighed but nodded, complying with his conditions. This, after all, was the first time he had let me off of the mansion grounds for years.
The gates opened and I was met with the sight of hundreds of girls, and a few boys, standing there while Yuki was trying to get one side to back off and Zero was glaring at the other side who was staying in there spots, obviously afraid of the boy.
We walked forward, and I heard people whispering about me.
"Who's the new girl?"
"She's really pretty."
"Maybe she's Kaname's girlfriend... she's the only girl he walks with besides Seiren."
I sighed at all of the whisperings when suddenly, a girl with brown hair and brown eyes walked up to me, seeming shy.
"My name is Ayano Najami." She said bowing slightly.
The whole Night Class had stopped and looked at me to see how I would handle the situation.
I smiled kindly at the girl. "Hello, Ayano. My name is Oka Ruriko. It's a pleasure to meet you." I bowed slightly as well.
This is so embarrassing. Bowing to a human who I should be considered as food.
The girl smiled at me and ran back to her friends. I turned back to Kaname who was looking at me proudly. I felt as if my composure was going to break at any second and I think that Kaname could sense this as he quickly motioned for the Night Class to continue and we eventually made it to our classroom just as I was about to break.
"How do you manage to be near all of them every single day?" I asked them softly.
They all looked at me shocked, most of them seem to not know how to answer.
"Because, if we attack one of the students, then our idealism of peace between humans and vampires would be destroyed and we would all be hunted down and killed," Kaname answered moving to the back of the class.
"But they all smelled so delicious," I stated.
"She seems so much more fun than you, Lord Kaname," Hanabusa said, smirking in his seat next to Akatsuki.
Kaname glared at him and he pouted and shrunk down. I laughed slightly.
"So, Kaname, you're not fun? That's weird, usually, you're a blast." I stated.
The others looked at me shocked, Ruka seemed to be glaring even harder at me. Hanabusa also seemed to be giving Kaname and I a weird look.
Kaname, however, had a small smile on his face. "But that is only around you, Oka. You are, after all, a sister to me."
I smirked and walked up to the very back of the classroom and looked out the window, spotting a certain Yuki Cross looking in at the vampires. I smiled at her and waved, she returned it.
I then noticed that Zero was there and he glared at me and walked off from Yuki. I saw Yuki call after him and then sighed and looked over the edge of the building. She suddenly jumped down and she was gone.
After a few seconds, I could smell blood, and it smelt absolutely delicious. It seemed I was not the only one who had smelt it as Hanabusa had sat up straighter. We both made eye contact and nodded.
"Lord Kaname! Don't you think that someone should show Lady Ruriko around the school?" He asked.
Kaname seemed to think for a second. "Of course, you and Kain can show her around. Be back before twelve though."
Hanabusa nodded and the three of us walked out of the classroom. A slightly awkward silence between us.
"I sincerely apologise about earlier, Akatsuki. I lost my temper over such a meaningless statement." I said, bowing to him slightly.
He looked shocked at my apology and Hanabusa was smiling softly at me.
"I accept your apology, Lady Ruriko," Akatsuki said slowly.
"Please, call me Oka." I smiled.
He nodded and we continued walking and we got outside to where Yuki was with two girls, one of which was bleeding. It was Ayano, the girl from earlier.
I licked my lips slightly but noticed that the delicious smell was not coming from her. No, it was coming from Yuki.
Yuki suddenly lashed out with a staff that would've hit me if Hanabusa hadn't had caught it first.
"Please, Yuki. Don't try to hurt us. We could just smell the blood and came to see if you were okay." Hanabusa said.
Yuki glared at him. "You three should go back to class."
I grabbed her wrist softly and looked at it. "Look Yuki, you're bleeding. You're such a clumsy human."
She had wide eyes as she looked at me and suddenly I bit her hand and tasted her blood.
This is the best thing I've ever tasted.
I swallowed and pulled away from her wrist and offered it to Hanabusa.
"It's the best I've had," I stated.
Usually, if you're bitten by a Pureblood, you got turned into a vampire, but that's one part of my power, I could control who I turned and who I didn't.
Hanabusa took her wrist from me and drank a few sips of her blood. I felt that a drip had started coming down my chin, and I knew that my eyes were glowing red.
I wiped my mouth and looked at the two terrified students who looked like they were going to pass out at any second.
Suddenly Zero was there and pushed Hanabusa away from Yuki, aiming his gun and shooting. My eyes widened slightly until I noticed that Yuki had pushed the gun up so then he would miss.
"What are you doing?" I head Kaname's voice asked from behind us.
Hanabusa turned around terrified. "Lord Kaname!"
I smirked at him. "After you have been stopping me from drinking blood for years, I thought it was only appropriate to celebrate my freedom with a little drink. And Yuki's blood was just to die for."
He glared at me and pinned me against a tree, snarling. I laughed at him.
"Now now Kaname. You wouldn't want to be losing your temper in front of your precious Yuki, now would you?" I giggled.
He glared at me but stepped back. "Go back to Midori, Oka. I'll deal with you later."
I rolled my eyes but walked away from the group, making eye contact with Hanabusa. I winked at him and walked back to the class where Midori was.
My time at Cross Academy may not be that bad after all.
Hanabusa Aido's POV:
Oka Ruriko. Of course, I had heard all about her and her parents. She was supposedly dead but there she was standing in front of me.
She was beautiful.
I just wonder whether she would ever reveal her secrets to me.
