Oka Ruriko's POV:
The smell of blood was still there after about twenty minutes and I think I was going to lose it. Aido's hand gripped tighter on mine as the classroom door opened and I opened my eyes, which were still glowing red, and looked up to see who had entered.
Kaname walked in, seeming to be a bit more tense than usual. "Please don't be bothered by the smell of blood. One of the day class students were injured at their dorms. Please come with me to return to the Moon Dormitory."
We all got up, me still gripping tightly on to Aido's hand. We started walking back to the dorms when Aido looked at me.
"You're eyes are still red, Oka." He said softly.
I closed my eyes. "I'm sorry."
"What?" He asked
I could tell that I was about to lose it. I could still smell Yuki's blood and it was driving me crazy.
"Catch me?" I asked, opening my eyes.
He looked confused. "What do you mean?"
His question was quickly answered when I passed out.
Hanabusa Aido's POV:
Oka started to fall down as she passed out but I quickly caught her in my arms and lifted her up. I was worried about her. It was like as if she shut down as to not lose her self control.
I carefully carried her to the Moon Dorms, following behind Lord Kaname and the others.
"What happened to her?" Akatsuki asked me, glancing at Oka briefly.
I shrugged slightly as to not disturb her. "I don't know. She just passed out."
Akatsuki nodded and we continued to walk to the dorms. When we entered, I placed Oka softly down on the sofa and sat next to her. Her head was in my lap and as I looked down at her, I thought about how it was Yuki's blood I could smell and I wondered about what happened to the girl.
Oka Ruriko's POV:
I woke up and my head was rest on something that wasn't my pillow. I opened my eyes and saw Aido's blue ones staring down at me.
He smiled brightly. "Hello, Oka. So lovely to see you wake up."
I groaned and then realised that my head was resting on his lap and I quickly sat up, which caused me to head but Aido.
"Ow!" I exclaimed, falling off the sofa. "I'm sorry Aido. I didn't mean to."
I heard him laughing and looked up to see him staring at me. My cheeks flushed red.
"It's okay Oka. I don't mind." He said between laughing.
I rubbed the back of my neck nervously and stood up still blushing.
"I guess that I should go to my room. Midori might be worrying about me." I said quickly.
"Okay, Oka. I'll see you later then." Aido stated.
I nodded and ran to my room and entered. I quickly changed from my clothes into a baggy sweater and leggings. I pulled back the comforter and snuggled into my bed.
I heard my door open and the soft footsteps of Midori. I felt the bed sink down slightly behind me and a hand softly stroke my hair.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you, Midori," I said softly.
"It's alright, Oka. I know that you didn't mean it. At least you lashed out at me, someone who understands, rather than someone who you might hurt." She said.
"Who are you thinking of?" I asked.
"Maybe a certain Hanabusa Aido?" She asked.
I giggled slightly and turned around in my bed to look at her. "I have no idea what you're talking about, Midori."
"You obviously like him. More than you would care to admit, Oka." She stated.
I scoffed. "No, I don't. He's nothing more than a distraction."
Midori sighed slightly and closed her eyes. "Whatever you say, Oka."
She stood up and walked out of my room. I sighed and laid back down, my blonde hair sprawling out around me.
Why does everything have to be so difficult?
Midori Ruko's POV:
I walked out of Oka's bedroom and saw a certain Hanabusa Aido standing there, looking shocked.
"Can I help you, Mr Aido?" I asked.
"Can I ask you some questions, Midori?" He asked me in return.
He's going to ask me about Oka...
I nodded slightly. "Of course."
"How long have you been with Oka?" He asked.
"I've been Lady Ruriko's maid for about five years," I answered.
"Who was her maid before you?"
"I'm not sure, you would have to ask Lord Kaname."
"Hmm... one more question."
"Yes?"
"What are Oka's feelings towards me?"
I took a deep breath. Should I tell him the truth or what she said to me? Or both?
"Lady Ruriko claims that she has no feelings for you and that you are only a distraction for her." I looked at his face and saw how hurt he was and continued. "But, I've known Oka since she was thirteen years old and know her better than she even knows herself. I believe that she does have feelings for you."
"Thank you for your honesty, Midori." He said quietly.
I bowed slightly and entered my bedroom.
I hope that Oka accepts her feelings for Aido. She deserves happiness.
Hanabusa Aido's POV:
I didn't know whether I should believe Midori's instinct. I mean she said that Oka told her that I'm just a distraction to her.
Why do you have to make me feel this way, Oka?
I sighed and rubbed my face with my hand and started walking to my room, thinking about everything. When I finally reached my room I laid down on my bed and stared at the ceiling.
Why did I have to meet you, Oka?
Oka Ruriko's POV:
I woke up to someone knocking on the front door to the dorms, I cringed at the bright sunlight but got up to go investigate.
I was still half asleep, so when I went downstairs and saw Aido sitting on the sofa across from two men I was really confused.
"Aido, what's going on?" I asked in a sleepy voice.
"Nothing, Oka. These men were just leaving." He looked to the two men, standing up. "I'm tired and I don't want to do any research for you."
He started to push them out of the door and then I saw that Yuki was at the door.
"Oh, hello Yuki. What are you doing here?" I questioned.
"Yeah, everyone else is still asleep," Aido added.
"I was wondering if I could talk to Kaname." She said.
"Follow us then Yuki," Aido said and grabbed my hand.
We walked to the stairs and started going up them with Yuki following us and I brought up something I had noticed when I saw her.
"Who bit you yesterday, Yuki?" I asked.
"What?! No one bit me! I don't know what you're talking about!" She exclaimed quickly.
Aido held up a bandage smiling slightly. "Yes, you do."
Her hand quickly went to the side of her neck and her eyes widened.
"Also, those aren't marks from Kaname's fangs, so who bit you? It wasn't Aido or me." I stated.
"I'm not going to tell you," Yuki stated stubbornly.
Aido seemed to get annoyed with this as he let go of my hand and gripped the banister tightly, causing ice to spread out. It slowly spread across the ground and went up Yuki's foot, causing her to get stuck in place.
She gasped slightly and stepped back as Aido was suddenly in front of her.
"What are you to Lord Kaname? Why does he care about you so much?" Aido asked her, raising his voice slightly.
"Aido, please calm down," I said softly.
"Hanabusa! Oka! What's going on?" I heard Kaname ask.
I looked at him, eyes wide and so did Aido.
"L-Lord Kaname." Aido stuttered out.
Kaname walked up to Aido and backhanded him, causing Aido to fall to the ground. I quickly ran up to Kaname and pushed him away from Aido, my eyes turning red.
"Don't touch him!" I snarled.
Kaname looked shocked at my actions but after a split second, he had a realisation in his eyes and smirked.
"But of course, Oka." He said. "Please take Aido to his room."
I glared at him, and my eyes slowly returned back to their blue and I walked over to Aido, helping him up.
"Come along, Aido," I said, leading him to his bedroom.
"Why did you defend me so aggressively, Oka?" He asked me suddenly when we entered the room.
I stopped and looked at him, I could feel that my cheeks turned red.
"Because I actually like you Aido. You're one of the only people in the world I can actually tolerate." I said softly.
He looked into my eyes and smiled. I returned the smile.
"Also now I know why you were so cold the other night. Your powers are ice." I stated, smirking.
He laughed. "Yeah, they are. Advantages of being an aristocrat I guess. But you being a Pureblood, my power must seem like nothing compared to yours."
"You're powers are actually quite impressive to me, Aido. I have quite a lot, but I can't control an element like you can." I stated.
"What are your powers?" He asked me.
"Well, I can control who I turn into a Vampire when I bite a human, I also have powers similar to Kaname. But there's one that no one really knows about..." I trailed off.
"Will you tell me about that one?" He asked softly.
I sighed and closed my eyes. "You may want to sit down, Aido."
He nodded slightly and sat down on the edge of his bed. He motioned for me to sit next to him, so I did so hesitantly.
I took a deep breath and let it go before beginning. "When I was nine, my parents had taken me to a party. It was a Christmas party and all of the aristocrat vampires and Purebloods were attending, so we sort of had to as well, but because my birthday is on the same day as Christmas, I thought of it like it was a birthday party, just for me, it made me happy. But at this party, I met someone who I thought was someone amazing at the time. His name was Rido Kuran, Senri's father. He manipulated me, a nine-year-old girl who didn't know any better and was always told do anything people told me to." I took a deep breath. "He had awakened a new power within me. I then had the ability to kill anyone with the flick of my wrist. No matter how powerful the person was, I could kill them without even touching them."
I had looked away, afraid to see his reaction to what I had just revealed to him.
He's never going to look at me the same way again.
I felt a hand under my chin and he forced me to look him in the eyes. "That was a terrible thing for him to do to you, Oka. But if you think that I will ever think of you differently, I never will."
I felt my eyes widen at his statement, surprised. Anyone else would've been scared of me after hearing that, but he wasn't.
"Thank you, Hanabusa," I said softly.
His eyes quickly looked down at my lips and then back to my eyes. I could feel my cheeks slowly going red. He leaned in slowly and his lips brushed against mine. My eyes widened and I pulled away slightly.
"Aido?" I asked softly.
"Please. Just let me do this." He said.
I nodded and he leaned in again and kissed me. His lips felt surprisingly soft against mine and I kissed him back. It was full of innocence, experimentation and something else that I didn't quite know or understand what it was.
Is this love?
