~ Chapter 10 ~

"Get the hell away from him!"

I lost it. I absolutely lost it. Bear is my horse and no one was allowed to go anywhere near him. Especially not this bitch. Her eyes immediately flash over to me and she shoots me an intimidating smile.

"Calm yourself farm girl, I'm just looking at your broken racer."

"Shut the hell up and get away from him! I'm not a farm girl and he isn't a broken racer!"

My anger had gotten the best of me and I lost all control over what I was saying. Everything just seemed to spill out.

"Christina, step away from the horse."

Luke's voice stops my screaming and Christina takes a few slow steps away from Bear. I take the advantage and run to him, running my thin fingers through his mane.

"Easy boy, it's okay.." I whisper.

"What the hell are you doing here anyways?" Luke snaps, his eyes narrowed and his voice harsh.

"Oh calm yourself pretty boy, I was only examining my so called 'competition.'"

Shocked, I raise my eyebrow and point at her.

"YOU, are a racer?"

"Only the best this academy has ever known."

Christina smirks and pulls a thin Chapstick tube from her pocket, applying a fresh layer to her full pink lips.

"And until you prove yourself worthy of my presence I definitely will not be sharing a room with you. I called my father and he is having me moved."

"I don't have to prove myself of anything you dumb broad. If you want to leave and be like this then more power to you."

Her eyes narrow, looking as if she was a tiger, preparing itself to attack an innocent animal.

"You'll do whatever I tell you to do, farm girl."

"I'm not a farm girl!"

I lunge forward at her, only to be held back Luke.

"Kiana, calm down! This is what she wants!"

I didn't listen.

"Bear is 100 times better than your stupid horse will ever be! He was a champion! A born champion!"

A deceptive, manipulative look appears on her face.

"Is that so? Then what do you day you and I have a little race? That would surely settle this little fued."

"A race? Psh, any time, any day."

"Then it's settled. Meet my on the track 5:30 tomorrow morning."

And with that, she walked out of the stables, her long hair flowing elegantly in the wind behind her."

After a few minutes, Luke finally breaks the silence.

"Well this should be ... Fun."
