Don't Abandon the Old Ways

Remember those times when writers wrote stories on numerous pages that kept their study desks as messy and disorderly as ever? Or the feel of papers on pen as your ideas pour out onto the paper and come to life?

Well you wouldn't remember because these days its either you're texting, texting or texting! For those that type, it's either on your laptops, tablets, or even on phones in some cases.

I mean no one is saying technology isn't good or that it is not handy to jot down a few ideas when the need arises or you suddenly need to continue your writing on the go but I have come to realize that mixing it up helps at times.

Carry a book around or once in a while and actually write a scene or two on in it and trust me, the ideas come flowing after some time.

The ideas flow more this way though so consider this advice. It doesn't have to be a big book, something that's portable so that in case you come across a word you find catchy to the eye, you write it down to be used later.

At times, know that the old ways remind us of the joy we once felt when doing that action. Trust me when I tell you that ever since noticing this and trying it out, I've never been happier to write my ideas on paper.
