[Author's Note: This is a rough edit in its present form online. I'll get back to it by tomorrow. I believe this chapter is there na, but after reading it a few times, I am thinking it needs a bit of tweaking. And the video, I got the inspiration for the title chapter from there, just to give you context. I just want to put this chapter out  because of you who have been waiting for it. It's September na nga pala, guys. Thanks for bearing with the wait for updates and for staying with Sean and Joaquin on their journey.]

It has been said many times before, some people are expected to be fashionably late. At pag sinabi mong 12:00pm or lunch time, expect na 12:15 or 12:25 darating ang iba.

My Lola Doray is busy in the comedor making sure that the food and the settings for her impromptu lunch party is just perfect; after Myrna and Cathy had a bit of turuan kung sino ba talaga ang at fault for not placing electric fans at the sala and ante-sala. Incompetence kasi is the one thing my Lola Doray hates.

*Alam mo, I have often wondered bakit we have maids with the weirdest names like Myrna. That name always made me iffy. May piano/music teacher noon na really bansot with thick eyeglasses na named Myrna that scared me as a teenager.*

The doorbell rings a few minutes past 12:00pm.

One of the maids descends the old staircase para pagbuksan yung visita. I spot Tita Agnes —yung mom ni Jake, and Kuya Mack as they ascend the steps immediately after they are let in.

I leave Joaquin, Artie, and Caleb to the mercy of Lola Idang at the sala.

I meet her and Kuya Mack at the landing.

Me: Hi Tita Agnes! Kuya Mack!

I give her a kiss and a really tight hug as she instructs Kuya Mack to bring in yung food sa bilao that he is holding. She's like a mom na rin to me and I really miss her. Remember, I told you previously, my Lolo Javier was instrumental in sending her to study college in Manila? Hindi na siya iba sa family namin way before pa; and her father is still my Lola's most trusted —more like only encargado.

She squeezes my right cheek na para pa rin akong ten year old.

Me: Taller siguro, Tita. Pero the ma-among mukha, not so much.

Me: I haven't seen that photo yet, Tita.

Me: Sige po, Tita. Thanks in advance. How are you na?

She still works for the municipal government under the social welfare office pala, ang tagal na rin niya under that office.

Me: Oo nga po. Sa Manila pa, of all places, kami nagkita ni Jake.
