Minutes later, after the drive out of campus, nasa gate na kami ng house ni Tita sa Xavierville.

Me: Thanks for the ride. Baka hassle na sayo ha?

Joaquin: No naman. Uhm, may I use your bathroom?

I lead Joaquin inside the house. Sa gate pa lang, I warned him na collector ang Tita ko and that she has some strange stuff from all over the world. From antiques to just about anything. Pagpasok sa house I went to check if the first floor bathroom was okay for him to use pero naka-lock yung door but may naririnig akong sound ng water. Kinatok ko at sumagot si Manang Thelma na nililinis pa niya ang bathroom so I had no choice but to lead him upstairs to use mine. Damn, dirty thoughts get out of my head!

Hindi naman messy yung room ko, but I read a lot so the books and some of the toys I collected naka-stack lang randomly sa buong room. I decided to sit on my study chair habang naghihintay.

Moments later, Joaquin emerges from the bathroom.

Joaquin: Sorry about that. I should have peed at school earlier.
Me: Okay lang.
Joaquin: Wow, that's a lot of books -and toys.
Me: Yeah, it's kind of an expensive hobby.
Joaquin: Mind if I look around?
Me: Sure. Hindi ka nagmamadali?
Joaquin: Nah, I live near lang naman. Not unless you want na umuwi na ako.
Me: No naman. You're welcome to stay.
Joaquin: I'll hang out here muna ha.
Me: Okay, lemme get something for us to snack on.

Bumaba ako to get some snacks. I heated a few empanadas sa toaster oven, kumuha na rin ako ng potato chips and pineapple juice in can. Pag-akyat ko, Nagbabasa na si Joaquin. Nakaupo na siya sa bed ko, as I set down the tray with the food sa side table.

Me: So, what are you reading?
Joaquin: Found a photo book sa table mo, parang bagong bili lang

Then I realized, kung ano yung binabasa niya.

Me: Oh Shit!
Joaquin: So, you're into these guys?
Me: Wait, sorry.

Pero he struggled to get the book out of my reach.

Joaquin: Wait, turo mo sakin which one of them you like.
Me: No way!

One more time, pinilit kong abutin yung book and it got a little rough. Inaasar talaga ako ni Joaquin and suddenly I lost my balance and dumulas si Joaquin sa pagkaka-upo niya sa matress and we both fell on the floor. I was on my back at Joaquin was on top of me. Tawa siya nang tawa. I felt so embarrassed pero natawa na lang din ako.

Me: Ang bigat mo.
Joaquin: Sorry.

Nag-adjust si Joaquin sa pagkakadagan niya on top of me and he lay on the floor beside me at natawa na naman siya.

Joaquin: Nothing to be embarrassed about, Sean.

Then it happened -again. I caught myself staring at him habang sinasabi niya yon. The moment felt so unguarded at parang nawala na naman ako sarili ko. And worse, he stops laughing at catches me staring at him. I don't know what's worse him discovering the Bel-Ami Boys book or yung mahuli niya akong staring at him like this.

Me: Who cares about those boys? They're all just a bunch of pictures. They're nothing like you.

Okay, I think I just sealed my fate. Either suntukin na ako nitong si Joaquin ngayon or this will have an awkward ending. Might as well drop my Swimming P.E. too baka lunurin ako nito.
