Joaquin's Point-of-View

To My Coño Boy on Valentines Day,

We all know that time is precious.
But for me, the person I spend my time with,
Is more precious than the minutes
or the hours that I could lose.
Because with him, time doesn't matter.

The Boy Who Fell (literally) For You

Unlike some people who believe in ripping-off the gift wrappers, I like to peel them off carefully. Most especially if I know that they wrapped it themselves. I know, I know, there's a superstition that if hindi mo pinunit yung wrappings there's a possibility na you won't receive a gift from this person again. But I really don't believe in that stuff. And mas na-appreciate ko yung care a person takes when wrapping a gift.

The brown paper, the native fiber string, and the card in the deepest shade of blue: that's Sean in a nutshell —or in a giftbox? He's unassuming and pretty simple like the paper he used to wrap the box in. He's quite put together. If you get to know who and what he is, the thin abaca string fits him perfectly. Like you know na it's a string, but if you study the fibers that make it up, you'd see how interesting he really is. And that blue card.

He calls me "My Coño Boy". That sounds derogatory to some people who get called that because it's a judgment and a misunderstanding of another social group, and it's really not used that much anymore, but coming from Sean, it's amusing.

What he said on the card hits home so hard: Time. We really don't have enough it lately. And please, like I always ask, please don't judge me yet. I — We are both in this situation because of the choices we made. Ah basta, I'm not one for over-analyzing complications so it would be a waste of time to dwell on that. And why ruin this moment?

The guy whose head is resting on my chest with his hair hitting my chin is so quiet now as I finally unravel the box underneath that brown wrapping paper. It's a black box. I have a feeling I know what it is since they usually come in boxes of this size.

I open the box to see what Sean has picked out for me.

The round face of the watch emerges from the box

The round face of the watch emerges from the box. It's a Kenneth Cole REACTION watch with a silver outer body and a black clock face with white details.

You see! That's what Sean is! He writes something like that on the card and the gift that's inside matches it! I like it! The round watch with the three knobs, and the color, plus the strap. I've been so quiet admiring the watch that I forgot Sean was taking a video of this moment. He wants to have a memory of it daw. Whatever my face looks like on the video, I don't know. I carefully lower my left arm that's locking his neck so he can't escape. I lean against him a little more ang kiss him on the head.
