Athena sighed, gripping her phone tightly in her right hand, and the strap of her bag that hung around her shoulder in her left.

Opening the doors of the High School library, Athena immediately spotted Corey and Mason, and walked over to the two, sitting down in front of them.

"Guys." Athena huffed, slouching into the chair and placing her bag on the table. "What's wrong?" Corey asked, and Athena sighed, throwing her head back.

"I feel totally useless. Liam, Lori, Malia and Scott are all out looking for Brett. Lydia is trying to access more premonitions, and my dad and Melissa are trying to cut open a faceless body. I want to help with something. I, need, to feel useful. Like, sitting around doing nothing isn't something I like doing. I feel like I'm practically useless to the pack. " Athena said, placing her head in the crook of her elbow.

"Hey," Mason said, placing a hand on top of hers. Corey did the same, placing a hand on her forearm. "You're not useless. You've done so much. You brought Stiles back. You saved Liam from the Dread Doctors. And you've helped so many of us with so much. You're not useless. I guess, now you just gotta be the one in the books. Be a Stiles. Be a detective." Mason said, making Athena groan and lift her head up.

"I do not, want to be a Stiles," Athena said, sitting up and glancing at what the two were working on. "Biology?" She asked, and the two boys nodded.

"Need some help? I got an A." Before they could answer, a set of books were placed on the table next to Athena, and she looked up. She didn't recognize him, but Corey and Mason did.

"Hey Nolan." Corey said, and Nolan just looked at them. "Studying for the Bio test?" Mason asked, retrieving his hand from its position on top if Athena's.

The boy smiled, pulling out a chair and sitting, "Trying, yeah. Trying to figure out how organisms often change." The table was silent, Athena shooting Mason a cautious look. "Like, how a fish can turn into an alligator."

Athena suppressed a smile, looking at Mason, "Um, alligators aren't fish. Um, they're reptiles. They hatch from fertilized eggs." Athena corrected him, and looked at the boy next to her, who was writing down what she was saying.

"Wait, isn't the test on DNA vs RNA?" Corey asked, and Athena furrowed her eyebrows, looking at Nolan.

"Do you think DNA changes?" Nolan asked them. "If it's damaged. Uh, changing DNA can cause cancer."

"So, organisms can't change. Organisms change. They can, change right in front of your eyes." He said, smiling nervously.

Athena glanced nervously at Corey, who sent her a look that said, 'to not worry'. "I don't, think this is on the test." Corey responded.

"Yeah, I wonder if organisms can, change. And then change back." He said, and Athena's breath staggered, her gripping her phone tighter. "Like, they can be two things at once.

"Um, Nolan-"

"Parrot fish, or protogynous hermaphrodites. Both male and female. Um, hawk fish change, and change back. As well as earthworms." Mason interrupted Athena. "Yeah, that's definitely not on the test. Or, any high school test." Corey said, furrowing his eyebrows.

"I wonder if, any of us have changed." Nolan said, smirking. Athena was now on high alert, knowing that this boy sitting next to her was definitely not talking about a junior Biology test anymore. "And if they did, would there be any way to tell?"

"Like a, DNA test?" Athena asked, and the boy looked at her with wide eyes. "I was thinking, a different type of test." He said, looking at Corey.

Before anyone of the three could react, Nolan had gripped his pencil and lifted it, stabbing the top of Corey's hand.

Athena gasped, standing up and moving away from him. "What the hell is wrong with you? Corey put pressure on it." Athena said, but Nolan had grabbed Corey's now healed, but bloody, hand and held it up to show the rest of the students in the library.

"Look at him! LOOK!" He said, but Corey snatched his hand away from him, holding it close to his chest. Athena looked around, and the students were all staring at them weirdly, gathering their items and scurrying out of the library.

"He's fine. It's-It's just a scratch." Mason reassured. Nolan gathered his items and walked away from the group. To which Athena grabbed her bag and threw it around her shoulders, before she grabbed the two boys, walking them out of the library.

Walking out, they ran into Lydia, who looked at them weird as they walked outside and stood next to a pole.

"It was about Nolan." Lydia said, talking about her premonition. "Would have been nice to know before he attacked me." Corey sighed.

"No, I-I don't think he was trying to hurt you. I think, h-he was trying to, expose you." Athena said, crossing her arms and looking around. "It was a test." Lydia finished.

"Well you definitely failed. I mean, it was a geyser. Half the library was staring. You didn't even have a scratch." Mason said to his boyfriend, which Corey rolled his eyes. "I remember because it was like, 5 minutes ago."

"Why would Nolan do that?" Mason asked, confused.

"He's afraid." Athena said, sighing. "Of me?" Corey asked, pointing at his chest. "Of us." Lydia answered.

"I thought your premonition was about people turning on each other?" Corey tried to understand, but Lydia shook her head. "Well I was wrong."

"They're gonna start turning on us." Corey said, looking around at the people walking out of the library, staring at the group.

Athena looked back, pursing her lips. "I think they've already started." Athena mumbled, turning back to look at her friends. Mason shot her a nervous look, knowing that all of their friends were now in danger, including themselves.

Athena breathed, "And now everybody's focused on us."
