Superhero - Calum (au)

Sighing angrily, your eyes follow Calum storming out of your flat. He slams the door behind him and tears start out of nowhere. All you had wanted to know was why he was being distant with you recently. He had taken offence and started yelling about it, and you hadn't got a clue what to do.

With shaking hands, you pour yourself a glass of wine and move into the living room. It's only been twenty minutes, but your tears haven't ceased. You and Calum never fought, so why now?
A loud knock at your door startles you from your thoughts, and you almost run to answer it in hopes that it's Calum. You pull the door open with a small smile, and then everything goes dark.

Freezing cold air and a throbbing headache wake you up. For a few minutes your eyes refuse to focus, but fear and panic have already set in. You're finally able to see your surroundings, but the darkness paired with the sharp pain behind your eyes hinders your view.
But, one thing you know for sure, is that you have no idea where you are.
As you start to come around a little, you realise your hands are tied tightly behind your back.
Despite the fact that you know you won't be able to get free, you struggle against your constraints. An obnoxious cackle comes from behind you, and someone brings their head uncomfortably close to yours.
"Don't try anything darling," the man breathes in your ear, sending shivers down your spine. You grit your teeth and allow your body to fall still, hoping the man can't see how scared you are. His presence leaves your side and he shouts to someone, leaving you alone to assess your surroundings.
It soon becomes clear that you're on top of a very tall building somewhere in the city. If it were possible, your heart races even more.
Heights. Oh god.
Suddenly the chair you're tied to gets tipped back, making your heart skip a beat. One of the men begins dragging you towards the edge of the roof, pushing your stomach into your throat. "Do you know where he is? We need him close enough to see her but not so close that he could save her. He needs to pay for what he did. He needs to see her blood stain the pavement." One of them growls, and that's when the hyperventilations begin. They're talking about you.
"I'm s-sorry for whatever I've done! I'll find a way to make it up to you! I'm sorry!" You rush breathily. The men laugh, clearly finding your terror amusing.
"Oh sweetheart. This isn't about you. It's about revenge."
Your mind whirls, but your thoughts grind to a halt as your chair is pushed forward and your eyes are met with the 100 storey drop. Your stomach turns, but you keep yourself from throwing up. It would only amuse the villains.
The ties around your waist get hastily undone and a large hand painfully grabs your arm and pulls you up.
You scream as he grabs you by the neck and dangles you over the edge of the building. Tears automatically begin to fall - this is it. There's no hope left now.
"There he is! Drop her!" One yells, and suddenly you're descending into the darkness below.
The air is knocked from your lungs, making screaming impossible, and your heart almost gives out. For a second you twist and turn, hoping to slow the fall, but you soon give up and close your eyes, trying to concentrate on the wind beneath you instead of the situation.
Calum pops into your head, but even that's not enough to calm you. Your last words to each other weren't pleasant. You wish you could speak to him one last time, but that's not going to happen now.
It's time to brace yourself.
