Caught

Chapter 1

LOUIS

      “Hey Lou! Come on back inside! It’s freezing out here. What are you doing anyways?”

 Zayn startled me. I’m not really in the party mood. This summer went by too quickly for me. I suppose I should enjoy this last party while I can before headed back to Trinity Academy. God, I hate that place. I can’t stand anyone there.

“Louis! Louis! Over here mate!”

Zayn screams from across the living room. He’s sitting on a couch with Frank Ocean’s arm around him. Nobody seems to care anymore. It’s been years since Zayn came out with Frank. I can’t stand it though. Why do they get to be happy and not me? It’s not fair that I have to hide while they can be themselves.

“Why are you acting so distant tonight Lou? Find a girl! Dance with her!” He grabs Frank and they head for the dance floor. I need to find Niall. He’ll help me get out of this madness. He must be somewhere talking to that girl he has a crush on. He needs to just tell her he has a crush on her. He needs to quit torturing himself. Poor lad. Found him.

“Niall!”

“Yeah Lou? Why aren’t you out there dancing?

“Not really in the dancing mood, I’m ready to get out of here. It’s getting late anyways.”

“Oh suck it up! You just don’t want to go back to school. Have some fun! Stop feeling sorry for yourself.”

“Yeah I suppose you’re right. I need to take a piss. Get back to that girl. She keeps looking over here.” I say with a smirk on my face. Niall’s eyes shoot open and he jerks his head around to look back at her.

“Oh man! I gotta go! I’m going to ask her on a date before the night is over! Watch me. Catch up with ya later Lou!”

There are so many people here I can’t even see the floor anymore. I have to push and shove my way just to get to bathroom. Even the bathroom is crowded with boys smoking and snorting crack on the bathroom sink. Everyone here is so hardcore. They are truly miserable if they have to be high to be happy.

 

 

 

 

NIALL

      Julia is beautiful tonight. Okay Niall, all you have to do is ask her on a date, she seems to really like you. There’s no reason she would say no. You can do this. No reason to panic. Oh god, she’s looking at you. Be calm. You can do this!

“Hey Niall! Everything okay?”

“Yeah, Louis just got a little bored. So how ya likin’ the party?”
“It’s a little boring, I don’t really know anyone here. It’s been tough making new friends.” She sighs and looks down at her drink. I know how it feels to not have any friends, I just came to this school last year.

“Yeah I know what ya mean. I’m your friend though! She smiled and blushed. It was hard to tell under the dim lighting, but she has the cutest red cheeks I have ever seen.

“Thanks Niall.” she said while slightly laughing. “…hey, want to go dance? We mind as well have some fun while we are here!”

She yanked my arm towards the dance floor. Okay, this is your chance. Just casually ask during a slow song. Make it romantic. You’ve got nothing to lose.

Here we are, dancing. A Thousand Years comes on the speakers.

“Oh!! Niall I absolutely adore this song! Hold me so we can dance!” she squeals. She really likes me. This song is perfect. Here’s my chance.

“Hey, Julia… can I ask you somethin’?”
“Anything Niall.” she softly whispers into my ear. It’s as if we are the only two at this party.

“Do you think that you would maybe… want to go… on a date? With me? Sometime? I mean, I will understand if ya say no. It was just a question. Ya don’t ha-“

She giggles. “I was beginning to think you’d never ask. Yes of course I’d love to go on a date with you.”

She wraps her arms around my neck. I put my hands around her waist and we just sway back and forth to the soft melody of the music. This night just went from awful to perfect. Should I kiss her? I really want to. She lifts her head from my shoulder and looks at me. I stare deep into her beautiful hazel eyes that seem to shine anywhere she is.

I lean in and she starts to lean in as well. Soon enough, I feel her soft, warm lips connect with mine. The world has come to a complete stop as I have my first kiss. I don’t want her to know this is my first time kissing a girl.

She looks up at me and smiles. Everything about her is perfect. We continue to hold each other and dance slowly even though the song is over.
