LOUIS
“It really sucks the coach won’t let anybody come watch the competition between Liam and Zayn. I really wanted to see how intense that was going to get.” Niall says to me.
Today is the day Liam and Zayn battle for captain of the lacrosse team, but nobody is allowed to go watch. It’s private, so they will announce who won as soon as it’s over.
“Yeah I know, but I’m sure Zayn is going to win. He’s been working really hard on this.” I add.
“I can’t wait to find out. How long do ya think it’s going to take?” Niall asks, anxiously.
“Zayn said they will make the announcement during last class, so maybe in an hour or so.”
“We need to do something special for Zayn. Even if he loses, we should do something to cheer him up.” Niall suggests.
“Well, we are going to Samantha’s party tomorrow, but Sunday, we should all go out to eat.” I say.
“Great, I’ll plan it all and it’ll be a surprise, so shut your mouth Tomlinson.” Niall says, laughing.
I can’t help but feel like I’m lying to my friends. I’ve never dated a boy before, so I’ve never had to keep a secret like this from them. I don’t want them to find out before I’m ready to tell them. I can’t seem to get it out of my head.
The bell rings and Niall and I head over to our last class.
The whole school has heard about Liam and Zayn, and we all rush to our rooms to wait for the announcement. Half of the school is hoping they will say Zayn won, the other half for Liam. That’s how this school is, Liam and Zayn have split it down the middle. Either you like Liam, or you like Zayn. Nobody knows why, but it’s always been that way.
Niall and I sit in the back of the room. The entire room is filled with murmurs about the match. Some people are saying Liam paid the coach to help him win, some people say Zayn did.
Our teacher isn’t even teaching until we hear the announcement. There’s no point really. Nobody is going to listen.
Niall is on his phone, not even paying attention to the commotion.
“Who you talking to there, lad?” I say, suspiciously.
“Oh, just Julia.” He says with a smile on his face.
‘Oh how is everything with her?” I ask.
“We are great, we’re supposed to be going on another date tonight. I really think she’s the one Lou. She is amazing is every way. I don’t know how I was even slightly happy before I met her.” He says, his eyes glaze over and his voice trails off.
I swear she better not hurt him.
*speakers turn on* “Ladies and gentlemen of Trinity Academy, this is your head master Professor McGuire here to announce our lacrosse captain. The winner of this battle for captain is…”
The entire room falls silent, and everyone turns their head towards the speakers. She pauses for a moment, you can tell the entire school is silent.
“Liam Payne.” She announces.
