Caught

Chapter 9

TYLER

      “Hey guys, what’s up?” I say, walking up to Liam and Syd.

They are walking to Liam’s car, getting ready to go home.

“Hey we were just about to call you and Harry to meet us here.” Liam turns around and says to me.

“I don’t know where he is, I haven’t seen him all day really.”

“Neither have we.” Syd says.

I know where he is, but I can’t tell the guys. He was with Louis, they met up after school. He missed all of lunch and then half of our last class. He’s going to get caught, this is weird behavior for him. Liam and Syd are going to eventually get suspicious.

“I see him, he’s running from the field.” Liam says. “Why is he coming from back there?”

“Probably left some stuff from gym back there.” I blurt out, trying to make it seem normal.

“He’s been acting weird lately, don’t you think?” Liam turns to Syd and says.

“Yeah, he doesn’t even eat lunch with us anymore. I never even see him around campus.” She adds.

Too late, they are already suspicious.

“He has a big project due at the end of the semester. He’s been busy with that.” I say.

I’m panicking. They can’t find out. They’ll never speak to Harry again. He basically lied to them for years. How would they ever forgive him?

“Too busy to have lunch with us?” Liam rolls his eyes and gets in the car. Syd follows behind and gets in the passenger seat. Harry is getting closer and I walk toward him.

“Dude, if they ask, you were getting your books from the field because you left them there from gym class.” I say quickly as we both head to the car.

Liam and Syd are looking at us.

“Okay, thanks.” He says, out of breath.

We get in the car and there is an awkward silence. 

He’s going to get caught I know it. Maybe I should tell Liam before he finds out on his own.

 

 

 

 

 

ZAYN

            “Catch up with you later lads. I have to go run some laps. The competition is in three days.” I say to Niall and Frank.

I kiss Frank goodbye and start to walk off.

“See ya.” Niall calls out.

If I’m going to beat Liam, I need all the practice I can get. I like working alone anyways, I get more stuff done that way.

“Hey Zayn!” I hear from behind me.

I turn around to find Louis’ ex-girlfriend, Ella Knight sashaying towards me. I can’t stand her, I’m so glad Louis left her skanky ass. She might be pretty, but her personality is rotten. She’s the biggest bitch in the school, everyone fears her and that’s the only reason she has friends.
