NIALL

“Ya know Lou, maybe being single isn’t such a bad thing, I know Ella wasn’t the right girl, but maybe you should focus on yourself for a while. Girls come and go.” I say to Louis.

He and his girlfriend just broke up a couple weeks ago because he just felt like she wasn’t the right one. I don’t blame him, she was awful. He only dated her because she’s one of the most popular girls in the school and that looked good for him. She’s rude and stuck up, she thinks she’s better than everyone.

“Yeah you’re right. These girls at Trinity are just awful.” He says with a sorrowful look on his face.

“How are you and that pretty girl from last night?” He blurts out, changing the subject.

He’s talking about Julia. The most beautiful girl in the world.

“I’ve asked her out on a date, this Saturday night. I’m going to take her star gazing.”

“Isn’t that a bit boring lad?!”

“Well, maybe, but she really loves stars. They are her favorite thing, so why not?”

“If you say so, I would never sit through something so insufferable.” He scoffs.

Louis isn’t the romantic type. He’s always been a flirt and never can stay committed to one person. I know it’s because he hasn’t found the right one yet.

“C’mon, we have got to get to class! Lunch is just about over.” I say as I look at my watch.

“Shit. Alright. I’ll catch up with you. I’ve got to run to the store. I meant to do it earlier. I need some supplies for a science project I have to do for the semester. I’ve been paired up with a complete stranger.” He says, gathering his things.

“Really? Who?”

“Harry… something. I don’t remember. He looks sort of young. I saw him at the party last night. I don’t have the slightest clue of who he is though.”

“Just don’t scare him. It’s good to get to know new people!” I say laughing.

Louis hates new people, I’m surprised him and I are so close.

“Yeah whatever. I’ll see you later.” He says, rolling his eyes.

“See ya.”

LOUIS

Speaking of Harry, I should text him and ask him what I should buy to start with.

I scramble to find the crumpled up paper at the bottom of my back with the digits on it.

Found it.

12:34 *me: Harry, its Louis… from science… we have a project together.*

12:36 *him: Oh hey! Great, I’ll save your number now.*

12:37 *me: What should I pick up from the store for tomorrow?*

12:38 *him: Just some basic supplies to make a blueprint with. Some snacks would be nice too! xD.

12:38 *him: Just joking, I have snacks…*

12:40 *me: Sounds good, see you tomorrow*

12:41 *him: See ya.*

He’s such an odd boy. He couldn’t be too bad I guess.

I race to my car so I can run to the store and get back in time before class is over. What the hell are basic supplies? Should I text him again? No no Lou, you don’t want to come off as strange.

It was so hard talking to Niall about Stella. Everyone thinks I really loved her. I’ve never loved any girl. My heart has just never been in it. I wish I could tell him. He just wouldn’t get it. Stella was a bitch anyways. Who would ever love someone like her? She was horrible and I’m glad I don’t have to suffer another day with her.

“Welcome to the Supply Store, can I help you with anything specific?” An overly enthusiastic voice says from a few feet away.

I didn’t even realize I was already inside the store.

“No, I’m uhh… just looking.” I say a bit confused.

Okay, basic supplies… like… paper! Yes, good. Maybe some blueprint paper. That could help. Notepad paper too. A ruler. Got it. Maybe I should head over to the library on campus and get some books about telescopes. This isn’t too bad.

“Will that be all for you sir?” The cashier says behind the counter.

“Yeah.” I say, fumbling for my wallet.

“That’ll be €20.87.”

“Okay, thanks.” I say as I rush out of the store.

Now back to campus.

HARRY

“Mooooom, I’m having company tomorrow, can you go buy some snacks for him?!”

“Sure! Just give me a minute.” My mom calls out from her room as I lay my bag down on the kitchen table. I can hear her running down here in her heels.

“Who’s coming over tomorrow honey?”

“My science partner, Louis Tomlinson. I think he’s upperclassmen so I really have to impress him and I told him I would have snacks!”

“Well, what does he like?” She says with an understanding smile across her face.

“I don’t know, just get anything.” I yell.

“Alright, alright. Don’t bite my head off.” She laughs.

My mom has always known that I’m a little different… but she doesn’t know my secret. I don’t want to upset her, even though I know she would love me anyways. I just think Louis is cute, that’s all. He seems like a nice guy and it’s always great to make new friends.

Who am I kidding, I’ve had a crush on him since the moment I saw him last night. He’s shorter than me. And he seems so small and fragile. He has a cute pointy nose and his hair looks soft, he smells like aftershave mixed with being sort of sweaty. I don’t know how I’m going to deal with this. I know if I just ignore it, I won’t feel it anymore.

Imagine if he was like me, but it was a secret like me. We could secretly be together and secretly fall in love, all while nobody knows.

*yawns*

I supposed I should go to sleep. If only I could stop thinking about Louis…
