"Your necklace now has the power to change you into a mermaid or human, whenever you decide to be either one", Olivia says with a smile.

My mouth drops in shock.

Olivia chuckles, "All you would need to do is think about which one you want to be, mermaid or human, and you would become it".

My mind is racing from the amazing news I was just told. My heart is beating out of my chest in excitement, I feel like I could fly. I squeeze the arms of the chair, so that I don't fall over.

"So, who are you exactly?", I say.

"I am Olivia, the enchantress who gave you the power to turn into a human except for once every year for a day when you were six years old, Malorie", she says all of that with no struggle at all.

"So, my aunt Valerie came to you for help, knowing I'd need to leave my kingdom somehow, all those years ago?", I say, trying to figure all this out.

"Yes, she did, and I gave her that necklace", Olivia points to my neck. "The night of the dinner, I was going to tell you all of this when we left the palace for our swim, it was all an act. But then you were kidnapped, I feared the worst", she says, looking down at her hands.

"Wait, that means you're the same enchantress that turned my sister into a permanent human. Why would you do that?", I ask almost terrafied.

"She asked, so I gave", Olivia casually said. "I can't say anymore of it so don't ask, your sister didn't want people to worry about her".

I drop the subject and ask more questions, "Did you rescue me from the water? All I remember was blacking out and slipping under", I say with a shudder.

"Yes that was me, I turned into my mermaid self and swam to you, faster than most merpeople can swim mind you, and grabbed you before a herd of Diru did", Olivia's face turned serious.

"Thank you, I wouldn't be here right now if you hadn't come for me", I say with sincerety.

"Anytime Malorie, you don't mind if I call you Malorie?", Olivia says looking right at me.

"No, it's fine, I like Malorie better than princess anyways", I reply.
