"The leader tossed a spear to the nearest Diru and told him to thrust me with it over and over until I died", Daymon closed his eyes, as if trying to erase those words from his mind.

"All the Diru follow the leader out of the cave except my executioner.  I'm not going to lie, I was terrafied.  I didn't want to die.  Not then, or anytime soon.  I guess that's what made me move because in the blink of an eye I had grabbed the Diru's spear and was pointing it at him.  It was taken off guard, so I took the chance and stabbed the Diru.  I then swam as fast as possible out of the cave", Daymon looks up at the ceiling.

"Once I reached the opening I didn't know where to go.  I couldn't go back to the border, I'd surely be killed.  It occured to me that the Diru would hunt me down wherever I went, so I needed to go somewhere the Diru couldn't".

"I decided that I'd come to the surface and stay here for a while to think about my options, and possibly find out if you had survived and if you were ok", Daymon looks at me smiles a small smile.

"That's, amazing", I say quietly, looking right at Daymon.  "It still doesn't explain how you're human right now".

"Oh, yeah.  You see this?", he points at his wrist.  Around Daymon's wrist is a simple braided leather band.  "Olivia gave it to me before I left to war.  She told me that it would grant me the ablility to turn into a human and back, whenever I wanted".

Olivia's voice made me jump, since she hadn't spoken at all, "You even laughed and called me crazy".

Daymon looks at me, "Yes, I did, until I tried it out.  Me and Olivia decided to build a secluded beach house that we could both come to whenever we needed.  I still think that it didn't need to be a three story beach house", Daymon whispers to me.

Olivia glares, "I like having the biggest beach house on the coast".

I look at Daymon, arms folded and eyebrows raised, "You never told me any of this in the cave".

"It wasn't important", he shrugs.
