"What's the plan then?", I ask.
"I propose we go to your father and explain our plan on finding your sister, Lila. That is if we can find him, he is fighting at the front", Olivia replys.
"I still don't completely understand. How can my father and Lila help us with this Diru situation?". My eyebrows knit together in confusion. I would think that Olivia had friends that had powers like her, who would be able to help us.
"Lila told only one person where she would be staying up on land after her transformation, your father. He alone knows the name of the place where Lila lives. That's why we need to go back to your father and find out where that location is. Once we find Lila, I believe we can convince her to join us again and defeat the Diru. If she can contact the dreaded creature, we could strike a deal with him. As in the extinction of the Diru".
Daymon speaks up for the first time in a little while, "But wouldn't the creature kill her on the spot? And even if he doesn't, he made it perfectly clear: death or lifetime commitment".
Olivia ponders that question, looking down at her hands. After a moment, she looks up and answers simply, "Desperate times call for desperate measures".
Daymon nods his head and leaves it at that.
"We leave tomarrow morning", Olivia says solemly. She then gets up and turns to look out at the water and runs a hand through her short, ageing hair. "Some advice, never give up. Ever. Even when it gets rough". Olivia walks back inside and closes the sliding glass doors.
There is so much to think about. My mind is spinning.
Daymon pulls me from my thoughts with that deep velvety voice, "Well, better make the most of the time we have left here".
Before I even have time to ask him what he meant by that, his lips are on mine. I smile and kiss him back. I couldn't imagine a better way to spend the rest of my day before we leave on our journey, than being here with Daymon, just the two of us. He breaks apart first and draws me into his arms, we sit there like that, enjoying the cool, salty breeze together.
A loud crash and a scream pull our attention to the house. Running into the living room where the noise came from, Olivia stands in the middle of a trashed room with a gun pointed at her head. The man holding the gun makes a triumphant grunt, knowing he got what he came for.
"Olivia!", I scream.
Looking at Olivia, her face is in shock, and it seems like she is uncapable of moving.
