In mere fifteen minutes, I had changed into my bikini with a light blue sundress over it, put my hair into a french braid, and was downstairs making pancakes for Daymon as I.
"Something smells delicious". Daymon said, coming down the stairs.
He had just finished showering and was rubbing a fluffy white towel over his hair. Daymon was wearing blue and orange swim trunks with a white t-shirt over it.
Handing a plate of pancakes to Daymon, we sit down at a dark wood table with chairs to match. "Ok, I think we need to stop by the kingdom and summon my father instead of searching for him", I tell Daymon.
"What do you mean by "summon?", he says taking a bite of pancake.
"In the pallace, there is a secret room only a selected few know about. We call it the Summons Hall. The walls in the Summons Hall are all made of mirrors, in the center of the room is a large, clear, sphere. The purpose of this room is to contact royalty in times of great peril, obviously the sphere is rarely used, but I feel this is the best way to contact my father".
"But how does the "summoning" work?", Daymon asks.
"Simple, you see this birthmark?", I point to a perfect round patch of darker skin on the underside of my wrist. "When a royal baby is born, they are touched by the sphere. What happens is you go up to the sphere in the Summons Hall and you say the name of the person you are summoning four times. That then makes the birthmark glow very bright, alerting them to return to the kingdom. After my mother died, I had tried the sphere on her many times, obviously she never came. I just hadn't accepted that she had passed on yet".
"I like your plan, it will be easier to summon your father rather than try to find him on the border", Daymon replys, finishing his second pancake.
After finishing breakfast, the two of us set out on our journey.
Walking up to the water hand in hand, Daymon and I stop right before we reach the water. Basking in the warm, salty, sea air, we look out over the ocean. I won't fear the Diru, I tell myself. The water is my home, and they will not and cannot take it from me.
