Chapter Thirteen

Mikey's POV

When I was seventeen, I went with Gerard to San Diego for my birthday. It was amazing, except I was missing the one person that I loved more than anything.

Cecilia. 

And when I got home, I couldn't wait to go and see her. Until my mom stopped me in the hallway. 

"Michael, honey?" she asked. I furrowed my eyebrows at her. 

"What?" I asked, pulling the sleeve of my jacket on. She sighed and put a hand on my shoulder. 

"Cecilia is gone," she announced. In that moment, my heart broke. It was crushed. 

"T-to where?" I asked. The shock that I was in, it was indescribable. She slightly smiled, then wiped it off her face. 

"I've heard to Columbus, Ohio," Mom said, a bit too sure, "but I don't know. But she didn't even leave a letter for you. She didn't even try to say goodbye." That's when I lost it. Cecilia said she loved me, then she left without even trying to say goodbye to me? I ran into my room, locking the door and throwing my jacket down. 

"Shit!" I screamed, punching my wall, making a large indent. And I kept going. I punched it until there was a giant hole. I just couldn't believe the nerve she had. That's what got me thinking. 

She used me. 

I was used. 

I thought she loved me. 

She obviously didn't.

It had been three years since Cecilia left. I never stopped thinking about her. I missed her. Nothing she could do would make me not love her. 

I joined Gerard's band and named it, My Chemical Romance. We had an album that pushed us into the mainstream. We had just released our second one, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. 

Cecilia also released an album. Badlands. I bought it the day it came out. Listened to it. 

She did so well. Without me.

And I was a mess. A drunken, twenty year old mess. 

No matter how big MCR would get, I just couldn't get over her. 

And I would never be able to.
