Karina^

Dinner was there before I knew it and the tables were covered in all types of delicious foods that I start to think it's an illusion. But when I look next to me at Alice she is piling the food onto her plate and shoving forkfuls into her mouth. "Slow down or you'll get a stomach ache," I warn not wanting her to eventually regret her decision to eat so much so fast.

"Does it look like I care?" She says with a full mouth as she lifts her eyebrow as if testing me to actually try and stop her from stuffing her face. I sigh shaking my head to which she smiles in victory and continues her attack on the poor food. I look around me at all the other eating students and focus on the professors that sit at the head of the room just as they had on the first day. I them feel a cold substance being poured on my head them drip down my face making me gasp and stand up abruptly.

I turn to see Karina standing behind me with an empty cup and a fake shocked look on her face as if trying to make everyone think it was an accident. "Oh my, I'm so sorry," She says and turns so everyone isn't able to see the evil grin on her face. "You better prepare yourselves muggle because by the time I'm done with you you'll be begging to go home." She strut away as the few people who actually saw what happened returned to their previous conversations.

"Are you okay?" I hear Alice ask from beside me and I turn to her and give her a reassuring smile.

"Yeah, I'm fine I just hope it won't stain," I say as I look down at my black robes. "Oh, never mind." I'm used to bullying but I was always wearing a stainable piece of clothing so I would have to end up hiding it from mom and dad till I was able to clean it without them knowing what happened. I really didn't want them to be worried and I didn't want the other kids to get in trouble because I know they are probably going through some difficult things. Now I wish I knew what was going on with Karina so I can maybe help her.

For the next few weeks I have a few encounters with Karina whether in classes we have together or in the halls in passing or even in the cafeteria. I just continue to ignore it not really being bothered by it. Then there's Rose which I still haven't figured out what her problem with me is. Also I've become better friends with Albus and Scorpius though it is difficult to hang out with them outside of classes because we are in different houses. And when I have Fridays free they both seem to disappear claiming to have something important they have to do. So Alice and I usually hangout then and it's become our regular girls' day.

During the second week of school I had asked Alice if her owl, Patina, could drop a letter by my parents' house and she agreed. A few days later she arrived with a letter from my parents so this has been our communication system so far and they don't suspect a thing.

I am still having a lot of difficulty in my classes because most of the time I have no clue to what they are talking about and I still can't use my so called magic. But the teachers understand and have been lenient with me and the boys tend to help me study and explain stuff. Such as right now as we are in the library afterschool studying for our upcoming history test.

"So, this Voldemort guy, what exactly did he want? I don't understand why he would just attack the school," I say frustrated as I close the book currently in my hands and whip my gaze to the boys across the table.

"He wanted my father dead as well as to take over the Wizarding World and he only attacked the school because it was the biggest obstacle at that second," Albus answers as he continues to flip through a small book lazily and not even reading the pages. I don't know why it's so difficult for me to understand this I mean I read books like this all the times but knowing this was real is just so hard to comprehend.

I sigh and flip to the very back of our class history book and find a name that seems to interest me. "Who's Xavier Revis?" I read out loud and they look at me strangle before I flip it around to show them. "There isn't much but he must have been important enough to be in our history books."

"I've never heard of him maybe we can the professor tomorrow," Scorpius suggests as he reads over the short paragraphs about him. "It says he was apart of the ministry but that he disappeared many years back but no information on what he did while working at the ministry."

"Well duh, I just read that I wanted you to tell me something I didn't just find out," I say sarcastically making the boys chuckle as well as myself. I turn the picture back around to look at the small moving picture of the man, he appeared to be in his early twenties with short brown hair and bright green eyes that looked back at the person reading the book. "He's handsome."

"For an older bloke," Albus chuckles as I shut the book and stand up ready to go. "Where are you going?'

"I promised Alice I would help her with something, so I'll be going," I start to walk away before I hear fast approaching footsteps and feel an arm being thrown around my shoulders.

"How could we just let you walk back all by yourself? That would be very ungentlemanly of us," Scorpius says with his arm around my shoulder and Albus standing on my other side. I just roll my eyes and continue walking until something shiny catches my eyes. I turn to see a door slightly cracked and open it to find an old, abandoned classroom.

"What's this?" I ask walking in to find a large sheet covering something and pull it off to reveal a mirror. "A mirror?"

"Wow, my dad told me about this," Albus says as he walks forward and strokes the side of it. "The Mirror of Erised or Desire, it's supposed to tell you your deepest desire."

Scorpius walked forward and stood right in front of it and started cheering. "Yes, I've won the Quidditch cup," He cheered with a large grin on his face and blew kisses to the imaginary people he probably saw in the mirror.

"Okay, that's enough we don't want your ego to get too big," I laughed as I dragged him away from the mirror then Albus walked in front of it but said nothing.

"What do you see man?" Scorpius asks but Albus says nothing but instead just slowly walks away blushing as I look at him confused but eventually shake it off. "Your turn Serena."

I walk forward slowly scared of what I'll see but when I step in front of it my breath is taken away as I stare at myself using a wand. So, many beautiful colors swirling in the air around me making shapes and designs and I start casting spells I've never even heard. "Wow," I sigh getting the boys attention as they seemed to have gotten bored of waiting.

"What?" Albus asks as they both walk towards me but before I can answer a shadow in the back of the mirror appears then disappears and I whip around as if to see someone standing in the back of the classroom. "Are you okay?"

"I though I saw someone," I say confused and scared because who could that have been? Was it just my imagination or a part of my desire that I didn't know about?

"If it was in the mirror it probably had to do with what you were looking at, "Scorpius says walking over and slinging his arm around my shoulder again as he starts to walk us back out of the room. I look over my shoulder one more time and see the shadow, a man, standing there in a black cloak but I couldn't see what he looked like. Then the door shut and disappeared making us all gasp. "What?"

I was still scared of the man I saw but wanted to know who he was though it was too late to find out now that the door was gone. "Let's hurry I still need to help Alice," I said as I gabbed their arms and started dragging them off to the Hufflepuff common rooms.
