Serena's Grandma^

I yawn loudly as I sit up in bed and rub my eyes I look to my left and see that I had finally woken up before Penelope. It's been a week and things have calmed down a bit, dad and Uncle Roger are talking again luckily.

I headed down for breakfast and take a seat between Maya, who is on my left, and Baby Patrick, who is on my right. I start talking with Maya as we eat our food when Uncle Austin and Aunt Lorella abruptly stand up groaning.

I look to see that Patrick had puked on both of them, Wow he has good aim. Uncle Austin looks at me pleasingly as he ask, "Serena, please watch him." He shoves the baby in my arms as they hurry out of the room. I mean I think they would be used to this after three other kids but I guess not.

I hold Patrick as he just kind of stares at me so I start to make funny faces at me and giggles. I continue until in his laughter he reaches forward grabbing the chain of my necklace and yanking it so hard it breaks.

"Dad!" I almost yell as my eyes fill with tears as I take my necklace from the baby and just hold it in my hand.

"Sweetheart?" Dad comes over sounding worried and when he gets to me he sees the baby and my broken necklace. "It's okay." He says pulling me into a hug being careful of the baby and kisses my forehead. "We can send it off and they can fix it good as new. Does that sound okay?"

I nod my head then I notice Mom heading my way and I look at her with my teary eyes. She looks at the neckless and says, "Oh." Then she looks at me then back at the necklace and as if something slides into place her face softens and she looks at home sadly. "Oh, sweetheart."

We sent it off that day and we were told it should arrive on Christmas Eve which is three days away. I'm sad for a bit after that and sulk until Maya pulls me out of my mood and we go outside to play in the pool, so that's what the boys were doing. I had no idea that grandma has a pool, but now I do.

We spend the rest of the day outside playing in the sun and relaxing. I wonder if wizards have pools, I mean probably.

The next day I had been put on baby duty so I'm stuck in the kitchen just kind of watching Patrick as he eats  his puffs because his parents are out doing last minute shopping.

I abruptly decide that I'm thirsty and shift my attention from the baby to grabbing a cup and filling it up with water. I take a few sips and set it down as I continue to stare at the baby. Then without looking I reach to grab my drink and it all seems to happen in slow motion.

Do you know that feeling like where you've done something a hundred time yet it is so foreign to your but but you do it anyways?

As the cup falls to the ground and I'm reaching out to try and catch it with my left hand, my right hand, as if on instinct, reflexively grabs my wand and I say, "Wingardium Leviosa." Then instead of falling the cup begins to levitate so I quickly grab it and set it back of the counter. I stare at it shocked then look up at the baby as he stares at me. I smile at him and bring my finger to my lips and shush him as if he's going to tell anybody.

My Magic's back! I'm so happy I just hope it stays longer but I don't think I'm going to use it anymore unless absolutely necessary cause I don't want someone to accidentally see it.

When the parents get back I hand Patrick off and head out into the living room trying to hold on my excitement while around everybody. I mean now I wish I could talk to someone about this, like Alice or Scorpius. Goodness I need an owl of my own.

When I eventually go up to my room with Penelope I rant to her about how happy I am though she probably wasn't paying attention.

I go to sleep that night with a smile on my face but throughout the night, just like the night before, I have strange dreams about shadows. And a creepy haunting voice that whispers, "Something is coming." It happens repeatedly like a broken record player. I don't understand why this is happening to me but now I'm a bit scared.
