I quickly shove my wand into a pocket in my favorite hoodie that Alice had enchanted while at school to be able to hold it. I look around my room and make sure I have everything before I head downstairs. Dad's outside loading everything into the car so I need to make sure to get Penelope. Because according to the fight I heard and stopped last night Lionel doesn't like her being in his territory. And I am not leaving her in a house where she has to run away all the time though she might have to do that at grandma's with all the kids, but it's way bigger so more room to hide.

"Penelope," I call out and wait a few seconds later she came trotting up to me and I crouch down and let her making her purr. I hold out the carrier for her to get in and she meows telling me she doesn't want to. "Come on Baby Girl its only until we get into the car."

"Are you talking to the cat?" Nala asks walking up next to me and bending over to pet Penelope before she walks into the carrier and I close the door. "Wow, she really listens to you."

"Yeah we've really bonded over he past few months," I say standing up and lifting the carrier to my face so I can smile in on her.

"Okay girls, time to go," Dad yells from outside and me head out and climb into the car. Once we have started on the trip I let Penelope out and she curls up in a ball on my lap.

I'm not sure how long we're driving but by the time we get to grandma's house it is extremely dark outside. I look out my window to see a large mansion lit up with Christmas lights.

I smile at the beautiful display. Both my mother and father were very well off when they were born, and some would say rich. Their families had been quite good friends for generations which meant that my mom and dad had grown up together. They were best friends when they were little and my mom told me she had quite a rebellious stage and left the family for a while but eventually came back and fell in love with dad. I believe it's a love like in the story books.

I quickly coax Penelope back into her carrier as a butler, I think, opens the car door and we are welcomed into the house. "Oh hello darling!" My grandma greets me with a warm hug as I walk in the doors.

"Hello Mother," Dad says giving her a hug which she is extremely happy to accept. "So, is everyone here?"

"Well, just about, Roger can't make it today because they had some car trouble so he'll be arriving tomorrow," Grandma says with a small smile on her face knowing how dad feels about him. Roger is dad older brother who annoys him to no end, whenever they are in the same room together they always seem to get in a fight. "Please promise to make this a happy holiday and no fighting."

"Yes Mother," He responds as we are then led up stairs and into our bedrooms. It is really quiet in the house with so many people staying here but I presume they are all asleep. I quickly let Penelope out and she hops up on my bed to lay down.

"Okay, so here's the rules," I begin as I sit down next to her knowing that she will know what I'm saying just like every other time I tell her something. "You are aloud Togo anywhere in the house as long as you don't break anything. I want you back in my room every night before I go to bed so I know where you are and that you are safe. And you don't have to let any of the kids pet you but be sure not to hurt them."

She meows at me then yawns as she settles on a pillow at the top of the bed to sleep. To which I follow not to far behind, placing my wand under my pillow.

The next morning I awoke to a maid coming in and telling me that breakfast will be served soon. It's so weird to have people serving me or to wake me up it's just different than at home. I mean we do have a maid but she only comes in once a week while mom cooks and cleans up what she can.
