What Magic?

Chapter 28

"Which way do we go?" Albus asks me looking as he knows that I would know, I guess assuming the Hufflepuff in me will help.

"Um, this way," I say pulling him down the hall on the right while passing other cells. I keep turning down random hallways just following my instinct when we come to a door and I have the urge to go in. I turn the nib but it's locked.

"Try Alohomora again!" Albus says as I'm still confused as to what to do so I repeat it not confident that I had in fact been the one who released us from the chains, but the door opens. We rush inside and to find it empty if anyone, really they should have more security here. "Over there!"

We run over to our wands and grab them and I look around to find my necklace when I see it on the other side of the room. I grab it but at the same time Clarice apparates right next to me and grabs the necklace as well. "You are not leaving especially with this diamond!" Clarice declares awe start a game of tug-of-war and when she is probably pulling her hardest I decide to let go. She stumbles to the ground flinging the necklace behind her. It hits the wall and shatters to pieces shocking us into silence. "You brat!"

"Serena run!" Albus yells and I run over to him where he's standing at the door ready to go I turn around quickly and send a spell, "Stupify!" We keep until we eventually come to a door with light coming from below it. We open it and run out into the blinding sunlight. We come face to face with other wizards and I'm scared at first until Albus yells out, "Dad!"

I sigh happy that we are safe I smile at Harry as I walk towards him as he is not hugging his son. "We've been searching all night for you," He says seeming relieved as to his son being safe.

"What happened?" Another male walks up next to Harry and I recognize the red hair so he must be one of Albus's uncles. I turn to look at Scorpius not really knowing what to say.

He comes over and gives me a hug to seem like he is relieved that we are now safe but whispers in my ear, "Tell them everything, about the diamond, your father, and Clarice but do not mention your ability or whatever it is. We can talk about in private later, there are too many people."

We pull away and he stands next to me as I turn to Albus's uncle with a grateful smile. "Well, you see Clarice Blade is the one who kidnapped us because apparently my father had stolen Zachariah's Hidden Stone from their treasury," I respond and the questions begin. Such as; Aren't you a muggle born? Who's your father? Why did he disappear? Where is the stone? And so on and so forth.

I participate in an interview with a reporter from the Dailey prophet where they ask me the same questions but a lot more and demanding more details. I hold back the information of my ability still confused about it myself.

When Albus and Scorpius arrive back at school the next day we are bombarded by hugs from our friends and questions from everyone. Just one more thing Rose can blame me for, putting her cousin in danger. I catch Phoebe's eyes as she looks at me sympathetically and I give her a small smile while she stands next to Elliot who just nods his head at me. I receive a lot of hugs from Albus's cousins, Scorpius, and Alice. It's nice to have friends who care about you.

"I am never letting go of you guys again," Scorpius says latching onto us by wrapping his arms around our shoulders. Then Alice hugs me around the waist as well.

"I'm so happy you are okay," Alice says muffled into my robe with tears in her eyes. "One second you were there and the next poof you were gone. At first I suspected Nargles because they like to take things but I knew they don't take people. We went straight to Albus's father after we couldn't find you guys, I'm so happy you're okay."

"Sh, it's okay Allie we're back and perfectly fine," I say softly while patting her head trying to calm her down.

"I don't know what I would do without you, you are my best friend!" Alice cries into my robe so I pull her into a tight comforting hug as she starts to cry into my shoulder.

"You are my best friend as well," I say and look at Scorpius who places his hand on his heart dramatically and fakes hurt. While Albus is just standing next to him smiling at us.

"So, I hear you're going to be in the Daily prophet," Karina states as she walks up with Daniel and another Ravenclaw standing behind her. She places her hands on her hips and stares at me.

"Yeah," I respond nervously and she seems irritated that I didn't answer her unasked question.

"Why?" She says with an attitude as if she didn't think being kidnapped was that big of a reason.

I was sick of her so I snapped at her, "One, We were kidnapped by the mass murderer Clarice Blade. Two, I had unknowingly been in possession of Zachariah's Hidden Stone which the Death Eaters had stolen from the ministry. And finally, I am the daughter of Xavier Revis who was in fact the one who stole the stone from the Death Eaters and gave it to me."

I was just not in the mood to deal with all her bloody antics. Everyone was a bit shocked that I had spoken back to her like that, Karina herself even seemed a bit frazzled but straightened up quickly.

"As in Xavier Revis member of the purest family of wizards, that Xavier Revis?" Scorpius asks shocked as he just kind of stares at me as I just nod my head. "Cool."

"As in Xavier Revis the traitor?" Rose says crossing her arms as she looks at me intently, not really with hate like Karina but disdain.

"Well, he didn't, technically, betray the wizard world but yet became a Death Eater with the soul purpose of betraying them," I say a bit iffy being that I don't have all of the details myself.

"Why did he still the stone anyway?" Rose asks ever the curios one, Albus says she gets it from her mom.

"I'm not entirely sure why he needed it but he gave it to me and it blocked my magic so I wasn't able to use it until now," I say as a happy smile grows on my face and I aim my wand at a a rock a ways away. "Wingardium Leviosa!" The rock easily floats up as I simply focus, then I set it back on the ground.

"It's so cool that you finally can use it!" Alice cheers as she gives me a quick hug before pulling away.

"That also means you can receive spells as well," Karina says quickly and sends a knockback jinx in my direction.

"Finite Incantatem!" I say quickly deflecting her spell. "Expelliarmus!" Her wand then flies out of her hand and into mine. "You know the good think about all this practice I've done? I can pretty much do all of the spells perfectly."

Karina growls as she prowls forward and swipes her wand from my hand and stomps away with the others but Daniel looks back at us for a second. I could almost see appreciation on his face before he turns and he's gone.

We eventually disperse and Scorpius and Albus escort Alice and I to our dorm room. Albus hugs me and whispers, "I'll come by tonight at 11 and we'll head to the Room of Requirements to talk."

I smile at him as we pull away and Alice and I walk into our dorm and I collapse on my bed.
