Chapter 14: A Cheesy Encounter

  "Anybody up for a little action in the arcade" Mikki asked as she and BJ got up.
"I'm always ready" BJ answered.
"Great. Let's go" Mikki replied.
"Now hold on. Shouldn't we get a shower, eat breakfast and get dressed. Maybe not in the order though" BJ said as they went downstairs.
"Well yeah" Mikki said.
"Morning guys" Alex said as they went into the kitchen.
"Hey Alex. Wanna go to the arcade" BJ asked.
"Sure. Wait. Is it Bri's arcade" Alex replied.
"No but it's a really cool place that's been open for forty years" Mikki answered.
"Forty years" Mika asked.
"I'm just as stumped as you are" BJ said as he gave her a kiss on the cheek.
After eating and getting ready for the day, they all got in BJ's Subaru and took off for the Lakes Mall in Norton Shores, Michigan.
"The Lakes Mall, eh" Jenna asked.
"Yeah. Why the Lakes Mall" Ayanna added.
"I figured that we should spend a little time with Big C since his establishment has been open for four decades" Mikki answered.
"Okay. Who is this Big C. Do we know him or her" BJ asked.
"That depends. How much do you all like pizza" Mikki asked.
"Hmmmmmmm.... Pizza, an arcade. Oh my gosh. We're actually going to Chuck E. Cheese's" Alex said.
"That's right" Mikki replied.
Once they got in, they noticed something completely different about where the stage would be.
"What the hell is this damn setup" Mika asked.
"Again, do we really have to swear" Jenna asked.
"Heheheh. Sorry. That kinda came out by accident" Mika replied.
"It's all good" Jenna said as they saw Chuck E.
"Oh hi guys. What's up" he asked as BJ and his friends saw him.
"Nothing Mr. Cheese" Mikki answered.
"Ya sure? You seem like you have a question about the stage setup" Chuck replied.
"What happened to your stage" BJ asked.
"The president of the company decided to have it removed in favor of a dance floor" Chuck answered.
"Okay. Perhaps you could introduce us to your fellow bandmates" Alex said.
"I'd be delighted" Chuck said as he took them to the rehearsal area.
"Hey Chuck E. Who are your friends" Helen asked.
"This is BJ Holstege and his merry fangirls" Chuck answered.
"Nice to meet you, Ms. Henny" BJ said as he shook her hand.
"It's nice to meet you too" Helen replied.
"My name is Jasper T. Jowls" a hound dog said.
"Yeah. We know who ya are, Mr. Jowls" Mikki replied.
"Okay. Man I wish Harmony was still here" Jasper said as he looked at a picture of a cowgirl coyote from West Texas.
"Who's Harmony" Jenna asked.
"She was one of our many guests from 1978 until 1983" Chuck answered.
"Well what happened to her" BJ asked.
"In 1982, she moved back to Texas" Jasper answered.
"That's gotta be rough on ya" Ayanna said as she gave Jasper a hug.
"Yeah but at least I still have my friends" Jasper replied.
"That's right. Together, we've got it" Chuck said.
"Hahaha. I-a see-a what-a you-a did-a there" Pasqually replied.
"Very funny Pasqually. By the way, when's lunch" Mr. Munch asked.
"As far as you're concerned, it's always time for lunch" Jasper said.
After a while, Pasqually made BJ and his fangirls a pizza free of charge and gave them each a $1000 play pass.
"There's $1000 on this play pass? Sweet" Mika said.
"Yeah. You guys are kinda big celebrities in this town" Chuck replied.
"That's an understatement" BJ said.
Once they ate their pizza, Mikki challenged Alex to a basketball game.
"So what do you say" she asked.
"Oh it is on like...." as Alex was about to finish her sentence, Mika cut her off.
"Uhhhhhh.... Sis? You can't say that because of copyright reasons" she said.
"I totes knew that" Alex replied.
After a very intense game, Mikki won.
"That was almost too easy. It sure pays to have a dad who played basketball in high school and college" she said.
"At least you have parents" Alex said as she went into the bathroom in tears.
"Sheesh. What was that all about" BJ asked.
"Don't ask" Mika answered.
Just then, a cowgirl coyote came in and walked right up to Jasper.
"Howdy Jasper. Did y'all miss me" she asked.
"Harmony? Oh wow. Of course I missed you" Jasper answered.
"Good. It feels great to be back after thirty-five years" Harmony said.
"It sure does" Jasper replied.
Later, Chuck E and the band got up to perform and he asked BJ and Mikki if they'd like to join.
"Well how bout it guys" he asked.
"Performing with Chuck E. Cheese and Munch's Make Believe Band? Hell yeah we'll join" BJ answered.
"Okay but please don't swear in front of the kids" Chuck replied.
"You have our word, Mr. Cheese" Mikki said
"Good. Now let's get this show rolling" Chuck said.
"What are we gonna sing? Party Place? Together We've Got It? Tell us" BJ replied.
"It's gonna be a 40th anniversary medley of all the classic hits that put this pizza place on the map" Jasper said.
After a very lengthy performance, Mikk knew what she had to do.
"Come here you" she said as she dragged BJ into Smooch City.
"I wonder if that's normal for them" Helen thought to herself.
"Oh it is. Trust me, Ms. Henny" Jenna replied.
Harmony turned to Jasper and popped one question.
"Should we go off to Smooch City as well" she asked.
"I was expecting a proposal but then again we haven't seen each other since 1982. So why not" he said as he dragged Harmony into Smooch City.
After cashing in their tickets and getting some amazingly cool prizes, they went back home.
"So how was the arcade" Wanda asked.
"Pretty good" Mikki answered.
"Yeah. It was great, Mrs. R" BJ added.
"Well that's great. You're just in time for dinner" Wanda replied.
"Sweet. What are we having" Alex asked.
"Mashed Potatoes" Fred answered.
"Awesome. I love your mashed potatoes" BJ said.
"I'm glad you do. Unlike some people" Wanda said as she gave Fred a look.
"What? I enjoy your cooking" he said.
"Oh yeah? Then how come you never admitted it until now" Wanda asked.
"Because it's just too good for words" Fred answered.
"Riiiight. I don't believe you" Wanda replied.
"Why not" Fred asked.
"No reason. I just like to give you a rough time" Wanda answered.
"Okay. Enough of this. Let's get cooking. It's almost five" Mikki replied.
"Good point. But first I have something to do" BJ said as he poked his girlfriend's exposed belly.
"Hee hee. Why'd ya do that" Mikki asked.
"I can't help it" BJ answered
