"Why must summer fly by" Mikki thought to herself as she got up.
Once she got downstairs, she saw her parents enjoying some breakfast while reading the newspaper.
"Good morning, honey" Wanda said as she greeted her daughter.
"Morning, mom" Mikki replied.
"Something the matter, dear" Fred asked.
"I'm okay. It's just that I feel like the summer is flying by way too fast" Mikki answered.
Just then, Wanda reminded Fred about a surprise trip that they planned on.
"Well................ There's one trip I was thinking you could take with all your friends" Fred said.
"What kind of trip" Mikki asked.
"I discovered this arcade down south in Gobles and I figured that you and your friends would wanna go there" Fred answered.
"It's called the Klassic Arcade" Wanda added.
"Whoa. They probably have more games than the local arcade" Mikki replied.
"They have about 67 in total when combining the number of arcade games and pinball" Fred said as he handed his daughter a list of games.
"Let's see..... Pac-Man, Galaga, The Simpsons Arcade Game, Q*Bert, Taxi, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders...... Sounds like a great time" Mikki said as she read a few games off the list.
"Alright. I hope you enjoy the trip" Fred replied.
"Wanna come with us" Mikki asked.
"Sorry. I have to work. And besides, I don't really play video games that much anymore" Fred answered.
"Okay. Just thought I'd offer since you planned the trip" Mikki replied.
After a while, Mikki called BJ and told him the good news.
"Your parents planned a surprise trip to an arcade seventy-one minutes south of here? I'm in" he said as he answered his phone.
Once everyone arrived, they got into the newly remodeled Vanwing.
"We're taking the Vanwing? I never thought it would be used again" Mika said.
"Well... Ya know. I wanted us to get there fast and the Vanwing is the fastest way since I had its engine modified by this new girl I've been hanging out with" BJ replied.
"Wait. A new girl? I AM YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" Mikki said.
"Don't worry. She knows we're a couple. Plus she's in college and we're still in high school" BJ said.
"I should also mention that I kinda sorta invited her on this trip" he continued.
"Okay. The more the merrier" Mikki replied.
After two short minutes, they arrived at the Klassic Arcade 2.0
"Wow. That was quick" Fern said.
"Yeah. It's almost like the Vanwing went from zero to sixty in a matter of seconds" Starr added.
"Well ya know... I may have had something to do with it" Kai said.
"You mean you helped Ben modify the Vanwing" Spencer asked.
"Yep. By the way, the name's Kai. Working on cars is my one true passion. Though I love arcade games too" Kai said as she introduced herself to Spencer.
Once they went in, they each paid the $7.00 admission fee and went off to different machines. Everyone except BJ.
"How do I even know where to start" he thought to himself.
"Perhaps you should start with Galaga" Mikki said as she took her boyfriend's arm.
"Okay" BJ said as he started to blush.
After a few rounds, he had gotten a fairly decent score. But not nearly as much as the high score that was displayed on the screen.
"Not bad" Mikki said as she gave BJ a kiss on the cheek.
"Heheh. Thanks" he said as he was blushing even more.
Meanwhile, Jenna decided to play Taxi.
"Dang it. Some of these shots seem a little tricky to make" she said.
"It just takes practice" Mikki said as she and BJ walked over to the row of pinball machines.
"Don't worry about the ramps. Making the Gorbie shot is probably the real challenge" BJ added.
"Okay" Jenna said as she made the Gorbie shot like it was nothing.
Just across from the pinball area, Mika, Alex, Fern and Spencer decided to play the Simpsons Arcade Game.
"I call Marge" Mika said.
"Dibs on Homer" Alex replied.
"I got Bart" Spencer said.
"And that leaves me with Lisa" Fern said as they started playing the game.
A while later, Ayanna and Callie were playing Operation Wolf 3.
"Well shoot! I reckon this here shooter game is just as fun as House of the Dead" Callie said as she and Ayanna cleared the first level.
"It sure is" Ayanna replied.
"Yep. I just wish Terri was here. But no. She had the stomach flu" Callie said as she explained why Terri wasn't with her.
"I hope your twin sister feels better" Ayanna said.
"Thanks. I hope so too" Callie replied.
After taking a break to get something to eat, they went back to the game area for more fun.
Mikki ended up playing the Ghostbusters pinball machine as BJ watched her.
"Ya got this, honey" he said as he watched.
Once she drained her last ball, she got a score of 56,502,728.
"That was incredible" she said as she looked at her final score before it faded.
"Oh please. I could easily break your high score" Mika replied.
"Do I smell a bet" Mikki asked.
"I don't think so. I think I smell you losing a bet" Mika answered.
"Okay. Let's not get too hostile" Jenna said as she broke up the trash talk.
Some time later, they went back to Grand Haven and arriving in just a short two minutes.
"Well? How was it" Fred asked.
"It was amazing, dad" Mikki answered.
"Mr. R, I just realized that your daughter is a pinball wizard. She actually won a bet with Mika" BJ said.
"That's because I taught her myself" Fred replied.
"Wow. I knew Mika's dad taught her to play pinball. But I didn't think that my own girlfriend would be quite the pinball pro as well" BJ said.
"Okay. She didn't win the bet on purpose. I just had some slight issues with the timing" Mika replied.
"Win or lose, we'll always be friends" Mikki said.
"Good. Let's keep it that way" Mika said.
After allowing BJ to spend the night, Mikki knew that before they went to bed, they had to do something important.
"Ya know, that trip was fun and all, but I have another trip planned for us right now" Mikki said.
"I think I know what it is" BJ replied.
"Yep. Come here, you" Mikki said as she dragged her boyfriend into Smooch City.
