Chapter 37: One Last Challenge Before School

  All seemed quiet in Mikki's neighborhood. That is until AJ decided to door to door to propose one last ideas before school started up the next few days.
"Yo! I got a pretty lit challenge we should tackle before school starts, fam" she said as she was greeted by Mikki.
"What is it" she asked.
"A 24 hour challenge" AJ answered.
"That sounds dangerous" Mikki said.
"What's wrong, fam? You chicken" AJ asked.
"No. I'm just worried we might get caught" Mikki answered.
Meanwhile, BJ was sitting at his computer.
He had been watching videos from Jaiden Animations, TheOdd1sOut, Tabbes, Chilly Panda, Cypher Den, SomethingElseYT, TimTom, Shgurr, Ginger Pale, Katzun, Wolfychu and Rebecca Parham.
"These videos never get old. Even if I've seen them multiple times" he said.
Just then, Mikki came up to him and told her boyfriend about the 24 hour challenge she agreed to do with AJ.
"You can't be serious" BJ said.
"C'mon honey. School starts soon and we might as well have one last adventure before the educational system disrupts our lives" Mikki replied.
"Okay. Where are we gonna do the challenge" BJ asked.
"It's most likely gonna be Target. AJ didn't really specify" Mikki answered.
"Alright. When do we leave" BJ replied.
"In a few hours" Mikki said.
After convincing a few more people to join them, everything was set for the 24 hour challenge.
"Is everybody ready" AJ asked.
"I'm ready" Ayanna said.
"The same goes for me" Fern added.
"This is gonna be so lit" Mason said.
"Please don't say that, Mason" BJ replied.
"Relax, Ben. At least I don't dab like Jake Paul" Mason said as they went out the the Vanwing.
"Yeah. That is a good thing" BJ said.
"Alright. Enough talk. We gotta get going" Vince said as BJ started the engine of the Vanwing.
Upon their arrival at Target, they did some browsing just to pass the time before finding their hiding spots.
"Hey look. A Switch demo. Anybody wanna play against me" Mikki asked.
"I'll take you on in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" Gretchen said as she selected Mario
"Let's see how you do against the Hero of Time" Mikki said as she selected Link.
Meanwhile, BJ and Fern were checking out the Nintendo Switch games.
"So many good titles" BJ said.
"I know, right? And Smash isn't even out yet" Fern replied.
"Right. Man I'm happy that King K.Rool made it" BJ exclaimed.
"Yep. Wow. It's almost closing time. We'd better get to the paper towel fort Vince and Gretchen made before we get busted" Fern said as they ran out of the electronics section.
Once they got to the paper towel fort, everything seemed to be going smoothly.
"This is one risky challenge. Why did I even bother signing up for it" BJ thought to himself.
As the night went on, none of the guards were suspicious of the high schoolers in the paper towel section of the store.
"I feel like someone else might be among us" one of them said.
"Richard, you're crazy" the other one replied.
"I dunno, Bill. What if I'm right" Richard asked.
"I'm telling ya that you're insane. I mean the store is closed. What sort of person would bother trying to hide in this place" Bill replied.
A few minutes, Richard and Bill clocked out for the night and locked the store up.
"Wait. It's locked?" Vince thought to himself as he heard the lock activate.
"I think so" Gretchen replied.
"Sweet. The coast is clear" BJ said as they got out of the paper towel section.
Just then, the lights went off.
"Eh. That's nothing. We can use our phones for light" Mason said as he took out his phone.
"Yeah. What should we do" Ayanna asked.
"I dunno. How bout some exploring" Vince suggested.
"Good idea" Gretchen replied as she hugged him.
"Ummmm.... Thanks" Vince said as he starting blushing a little bit.
"Awwwwww. I know you have a crush on me" Gretchen said.
"How did you find out" Vince asked.
"Word gets around" Gretchen answered.
After awhile of exploring the dark store, they decided to head back to the paper towel section and go to sleep. Mason had set the alarm for 6am so that they could get out as soon as possible.
The next morning, they woke up, purchased a few things since they had their wallets and then got out of the store just as the sun was rising.
"Whew. Glad we didn't get caught while we were in the middle of the challenge" BJ said.
"Yeah. But let's not do it again" Mikki replied.
"Agreed" Fern said.
After dropping everyone off at their respective houses, BJ and Mikki arrived home and were greeted by Fred and Wanda.
"Where were you guys" they asked.
"One of our friends convinced us to do a 24 hour challenge at Target" Mikki answered.
"We would ground you two for a month. But since you got through the challenge without getting caught, we won't" Wanda said.
"That's a relief" Mikki replied.
"Yeah. It really is" BJ said.
"Did you at least get some groceries while you were out" Fred asked.
"Yes, dad. We got a few things since we brought our wallets with us" Mikki answered.
"That's good. You saved us a trip to the store today" Wanda replied.
After putting the groceries away, BJ and Mikki went upstairs to prepare for the impending school year that would be starting in a few days.
"How should we celebrate since your parents didn't ground us" BJ asked.
"I think you know. Come here you" Mikki said as she pinned her boyfriend down and dragged him into Smooch City.
