Chapter 39: Havedale

  It seemed to be an average day in Grand Haven. Though it was still hot outside despite being September.
"When will this heatwave end" BJ thought to himself as he and Mikki arrived at school.
"Whatcha thinkin' about" Mikki asked.
"Oh nothing. Just stuff" BJ answered.
"Okay" Mikki replied.
As the day went on, it seemed like school would never end. But the good news is that the bell for lunch rang.
"Never let it be said that this day is kinda going by a little bit slow" BJ said as he and Mikki got their lunches out of their lockers.
"That's an understatement" Mikki replied.
Upon entering a cafeteria, they sent down with Mika, Jenna and Ella.
"Can you believe this heatwave" Mika asked.
"Nope" BJ answered.
"I heard it's supposed to cool down this weekend" Ella added.
"What a relief" Mikki said.
After lunch, they got through the rest of the day and before they knew it, it was over.
"Whew. That math test was intense" BJ said as he and Mikki walked in the door.
"You said it" Mikki added.
"Mikki? Is that you" Wanda asked.
"Yeah, mom. Why do you ask" Mikki replied.
"Just wondering" Wanda answered.
Meanwhile, in a town called Riverdale, a group of five teenagers decided to take a vacation.
"Ummmmm...... Are you sure this'll work, Arch" Jughead asked.
"Relax, Jug. I had our parents transfer us to another school" Archie answered.
"I hope there are lots of girls in whichever town we're headed for" Reggie said.
"Speaking of which, what town are we going to" Betty asked.
"We're going to a town in Michigan called Grand Haven" Archie replied.
"Oh. That should be fun. Even though it's not really summer" Betty said.
The next day, they packed their bags and took Archie's car to the town.
Upon their arrival, they checked into their hotel and went to bed to prepare for their first day of Grand Haven High School. The next morning, they woke up, ate breakfast and then got ready for the day.
"I heard one of the students that attends GH High got his picture on the front page of the local paper" Jughead said.
"Wow. He must have an ego the size of a building" Reggie added.
"I'm sure he doesn't" Veronica said.
"Guess we'll find out when we meet him" Archie said as they got to the school.
Meanwhile, BJ and Mikki were talking about their weekend plans.
"What do you propose we do for our weekend date" BJ asked.
"I dunno. I thought you had an idea" Mikki answered.
"Maybe we could go see a movie" BJ suggested.
"Is there anything good playing" Mikki asked.
BJ proceeded to check his phone to see if there were any good movies in theaters.
"Other than Christopher Robin, there's not much in terms of quality entertainment" he said as he looked.
"Hmmmmmm....... I think I have an idea" Mikki replied.
As she was about to tell BJ the idea, they were spotted by Archie and the gang.
"Betty, look. It's him" Veronica said as they spotted BJ talking to Mikki.
"Sweet. Should we introduce ourselves to him" Betty asked.
"Of course we should" Veronica answered.
They went up to BJ and immediately said hi.
"Hi girls. Who are you" BJ asked.
"I'm Betty" Betty answered.
"And I'm Veronica" Veronica added.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Benjamin John Holstege. Or BJ for short" BJ said as he introduced himself.
"Mind if we just call you Ben" Veronica asked.
"You can call me whatever you want" BJ answered.
"Okay" Betty replied.
Just then, Archie, Reggie and Jughead came up to them as well.
"So you're the guy who got his picture in the news paper" Reggie said.
"Yes and no my ego isn't the size of a building" BJ replied.
"You should consider yourself lucky" Archie said.
"Right" BJ said as the bell rang.
"Get to class, Holstege" Principal Burkley demanded as she walked by
"Any girls want an escort" BJ asked.
"I'll take on" Veronica answered.
"The same goes for me" Mikki added.
"Okay, ladies. Take my arms" BJ said as he got ready for an escort.
After the school day concluded, Jughead's phone rang.
"Oh no. Not again" he said.
"Who is it, Jug" Archie asked.
"Take a wild guess" Jughead answered.
"It's probably Big Ethel" Archie said.
Jughead then proceeded answer the call.
"Hey Juggy..........."
Before Ethel could finish her sentence, Jughead hung up on her.
"Whew. I nearly dodged a bullet there" he said.
"What's so bad about this Big Ethel girl" Jenna asked.
"She's kinda like a stalker" Jughead answered.
"Oh. That's weird" Jenna replied.
After thinking of a good place to hang out, they went downtown to Mr. Kozak's for some gyros and fun.
"So this is a local place for the GH natives to hang out. Cool" Reggie said.
"Yeah. Though BJ never gets anything because he prefers to save his appetite for dinner" Mikki replied.
A few hours later, Archie and his friends headed back to their hotel and Mikki, BJ and Jenna went back to their homes.
"So what was your idea for the weekend date" BJ asked.
"I was thinking we could go to Craig's Cruisers" Mikki answered.
"Which one? The one in Muskegon or the one in Grand Rapids" BJ replied.
"The location in Grand Rapids of course" Mikki said.
"Good idea. Perhaps we could make it a double date with a twist" BJ suggested.
"What do you mean by that" Mikki asked.
"I mean you'll be with Archie and I'll be with Veronica" BJ said as he explained everything.
"Ummmmmmm............." Mikki gave it some thought for a moment and ultimately decided that it was a good idea.
"Okay. I'll go along with it" she said.
Once Saturday came, he sent a text to Archie asking if he and Veronica would like to tag along. He replied with a "Yes".
A few hours later, they went to the hotel to pick them up.
"So what's this place like" Archie asked.
"It's got plenty of great options when it comes to the fun we can have. Not to mention the fact that they have a buffet that would cause Jughead to go crazy" BJ answered.
"Sounds like fun" Veronica replied.
Upon getting in and paying the fee, BJ and Archie swapped dates for the night.
"Have fun with Mikki, Archiekins" Veronica said.
"Thanks You have fun with BJ" Archie replied.
"Don't worry. We will" Veronica said
And with that, they split off to do their own things.
"What should we do first, Mikki" Archie asked.
"How bout the indoor go karts" Mikki suggested.
"Good idea" Archie said.
Upon getting in line, they saw BJ and Veronica.
"Heheheh. Fancy running into you, Arch" BJ said as he noticed Mikki and Archie behind him.
"Likewise, BJ. I guess great minds think alike" Archie replied.
As the line moved, they were next.
"I think I'll go for the Kellogg's kart" BJ said he looked at the karts.
"I'll drive the McDonald's kart" Veronica said.
Once Archie and Mikki chose the karts they decided to use, the race began.
A few laps in, Veronica took the lead with BJ not too far behind.
"This is fun" she said as BJ was about to pass her.
After the race, Mikki ended up winning.
"Well that was fun. Now perhaps we won't run into each other for the rest of the night" Veronica said.
"Yeah. But at least everything's alright" Mikki replied.
"Yep. That's totally a good thing" Archie added.
Veronica and BJ decided to sign up for a game of laser tag but little did they know that Archie and Mikki signed up as well.
After playing a few arcade games and a game of laser tag, the night was over.
"Wow. What a fun date" BJ said as they walked out.
"Yeah. I enjoyed watching you play pinball" Veronica said as she got ready to kiss him.
"Ummmmm..... Veronica, what do you think you're doing" Mikki asked.
"What? Your boyfriend showed me a good time. So I plan to thank him by giving him some kisses" Veronica answered.
"Oh. Can I join you in kissing him" Mikki replied.
"Go ahead and put on some lipstick and follow my lead" Veronica said as she handed her some red lipstick. Mikki then proceeded to apply it and then they positioned themselves on each side of BJ.
"Ready" Veronica asked.
"Yeah. I'm ready" Mikki answered.
After a few seconds, BJ cheeks were covered in kiss marks from the two girls.
Once they took Archie and Veronica back to the hotel, Mikki and BJ went home and crashed in their room.
"So how was your date" Wanda asked.
"It was great, mom" Mikki answered.
"That's good" Wanda replied.
Meanwhile at the hotel, Archie and Veronica decided to go to bed.
"Goodnight, Archiekins" she said.
"Night, Veronica" Archie replied.
Back at Mikki's, BJ gave his girlfriend a goodnight kiss before going to bed himself.
"Goodnight" he said.
"And goodnight to you too, honey" Mikki replied.
The next morning, Archie and his friends came over to say goodbye.
"Well Ben, I guess this is goodbye" Veronica said.
"Yeah. I had fun hanging out with you guys all through the week" BJ replied.
"The same goes for me. But before we go back to Riverdale, I have a surprise for you" Veronica said.
"Oh. What is it" BJ asked.
"This" Veronica said as she gave BJ a kiss on the cheek.
"Heheheh. Thanks" he said as he started blushing.
"You're welcome" Veronica replied.
As they drove off, BJ was still blushing.
"Wanna take a trip" Mikki asked.
"To Smooch City" BJ replied.
"Yes" Mikki answered.
"Okay" BJ said as Mikki pinned him and dragged him in
