"Hey. " He said. His hair is blond and eyes dark brown. He flashed a small smile.
"Um hi. " I said smiling. He was just standing there, watching me sit on the ground.
"Why are you sitting here? " He laughed a little.
"Well i forgot my keys so im locked out. " I said casually. I had to block the sun with my hand.
"Oh you live here? " He asked me surprised.
"Yeah i just moved in. " I answered him. He has a perfect smile. I'm wondering does he live in our neighbourhood.
"You live with Jake and Mariel? " He asked me.
"Yeah actually they're my cousins. " I said to him. He looked surprised.
"Really? That's cool." He said. Then he came closer to me.
"Well, I can keep you company. " He gave me the cutest smile. "By the way i didn't catch your name.. " He sat right next to me.
"Haha thanks, I'm Mia. " I said and smiled to him.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Matt. " He said and shook my hand. We laughed a little.
"So where are you from...? " Matt asked me. He was so adorable.
"I'm actually from Finland. " I said to him. His eyes went big.
"Finland? That's like on the other side of the world! " He laughed "Why did you move here?"
"Um... I had some issues back home. " I didn't know what to say.
"Oh okay. I don't want to be nosy. " His deep brown eyes just caught my attention. I could not stop staring at him.
"No it's okay! " I answered to him as friendly as possible. I think this is not the place and time to tell him, hey my mother is dead. We were chatting a little and soon I saw Darlen's car driving to our yard.
"Hey thanks for keeping me company! " I said and smiled at him. We got up from the ground.
"No problem! See you around then Mia. " He said and walked back to his house backwards staring at me. I pretended I didn't notice him still looking at me. He unlocked his door, so apparently we're neighbours. Awesome.
Darlene got up from the car carrying some grocery.
"Honey what are you doing outside? " She asked me.
"I forgot my keys and Mariel went to volleyball practice. " I said to her.
"Oh my I totally forgot to give you the keys, how stupid of me. I'm so sorry honey. But i see you had some company! Matt is such a friendly boy. " She said and went in. I gave one last look to his yard hoping, I'll see him again.
