Chapter 18: Blood

Talking with Cameron always makes me happy. 

"Mia, I can't wait to see you! I miss you so much... " Cameron said. He's currently lying on his bed.

"I miss you too Cam! " I say and send him kisses, but it's okay, Cameron is more like a brother to me. I'm lying on my belly and I roll around on my side. "I should go now though. "

"Okay... But hey this was fun, we should do this more often! " Cameron said smiling.

"Yeah we should! Talk to you later bro. " I say to him.

"Okay love you. "

"Bye-e-e. " I close the facetime. I hear a door loudly pounding open downstairs. I jump off from my bed and slowly open my door not wanting to make a sound. I hear Mariel and Jake yelling at each other.

"Dude what is your problem!? " Mariel is shouting to her brother. I was going to go downstairs to see what's going on, until I hear my name in the middle of the conversation.

"Mia has done nothing to you, you're just a fucked up piece of shit. " Mariel is now crying. I wonder what Jake did. I quietly move my body closer to the edge so I can see what's happening down there. I see that Jake's face is covered with blood.

"Look stay out of this Mariel! " Mariel throws him with a plate and I hear it shattering to pieces. I don't know why but I'm a little scared and I'm trying to figure out should I go down before something bad happens. But why are they fighting and what did Jake do? Mariel is sobbing in the kitchen and yelling at Jake. 

"So you think it's okay to joke about Mia, our cousin,my best friend and Matt's girlfriend!? "

 I hear the door opening again. 

"I'll beat your ass up. " It's Matt. His nose is bleeding and he's walking fast towards Jake. Right after Matt, Jack G, Jack J and some other guys follow him. Jack G grabs Matt's shoulder right before he reaches Jake.

"Matt stop! " The guys yell. Matt pushes Jack away but he's holding him tight. Mariel is crying and holding her face. Nobody actually knows that I'm watching everything from upstairs. I can't move. I want to scream and run but I can't do anything, I feel so weak. 

"Matt why do you even care! She's going to die anyway! " Now I see... Jake is laughing. My heart drops and I start to cry. Matt loses it and Jack couldn't hold him back anymore. Mariel runs right in the middle of the guys and Jake pushes her away and she slams to a wall. Johnson sees me standing upstairs and his face is full of worry. Matt and Jake are punching each other and Jake throws Matt to the ground. Right before he can hurt him really bad someone pulls him away.

Everyone are yelling and finally the guys tear Matt and Jake apart, the floor is full of blood. I find myself running down the stairs and soon standing in the middle of them two. Jack J is trying to pull me away but his hand slips.

"Stop! " I hold my hands up and watch Jake right in the eye hoping he would leave Matt alone. I'm out of breath and my body is shaking. All of a sudden something clicked inside of me, I feel like I need to protect Matt no matter what will happen. Not even thinking I'm standing face to face with Jake who just pushed his own sister. Jake shapes up and slowly takes couple of steps back. The room is now silent, all I can hear is Matt coughing blood and Mariel crying in the kitchen. I'm standing on broken glass in front of my boyfriend.

"Get out! " Mariel whispers. Jake looks at her trying to say something. "Just go, I don't want to see you ever again. " He walks out not even looking back. He has a black eye and his lips are bleeding, he spits blood on the floor before leaving the house. Mariel looks at the other guys, they get the hint and walk away leaving me, her, Matt and the Jacks inside. Gilinsky is walking Matt to the kitchen so they can grab something cold for his face. Matt is holding his head up eyes closed to stop the bleeding. I walk right next to him and hold his face. Matt smiles a little.
