Chapter 37: Mia's not dead

 17th of February.

" So the last month that I was spending at the hospital was horrible. Not just for me but also for the people around me. It was an on/off battle of me even surviving... Everyone thought that I was dead like for 4 times, it wasn't easy for them either. Matt visited me every single day even if I wasn't awake. For a moment I was about to give up but then a miracle happened. Everything turned  a whole lot better.

My doctors said that when they told me I have cancer and I refused to take cemo, I was actually killing myself. That was the reason for my condition. But now I'm taking it and unfortunately loosing my hair... Matthew said he doesn't mind but I do.

So after countless days of fighting for my life, it got better again. I started to feel alive and we had hope. My family, Mariel, Jake, Darlene and her husband Ben celebrated christmas at the hospital with me. It was nice but I really wanted to go home. At the time I had been in the ICU for like 3 months I guess? Every now and then if I was feeling good, my nurse took me out with a wheel chair. That was a big deal for me  because I didn't really get to go out.

In January, I believe the 4th, they finally told me that I can go back home. I was so happy to hear that and the next morning I packed my things and Darlene drove me home.

I need to go there every once in a while to do a check up but it seems like I won and I don't need to worry about it anymore. My hair is growing back again but I usually just wear a beanie to hide my head.

After I got home, Matthew invited the guys to see me. Nash, Carter, Cameron and the Jacks came over to Matt's house and we had fun together. The most important thing in my life is Matthew. I can't even explain how much he means to me, we're perfect for each other.

So that's pretty much it. Thank you for watching. " I shut down the camera and sigh. It was hard talking about my experience but everyone told me to do it, they said it would be good for myself too.

So without editing it I posted it on youtube. I opened my twitter account again and everyone were going crazy on social media.

In the video I told every little detail about my 3 months at the ICU. The fans were obviously confused so I did it. Well, to be completely honest there's something I didn't tell them. Nobody knows that one day Cameron came and visited me. So usually I always had someone with me at the hospital, but two weeks before I got out I was all by myself. Nobody knows that he came by that day, not even Mariel. I was happy to see him and he was happy to see me too. 

Anyway now I'm happy. I'm going back to school next month, not really excited about that though. Maybe I can talk to Darlene about starting to take classes online..

"You posted it! " Mariel jumped in to my room. I simply nod and close my laptop. "I'm so proud of you. " She smiled and gave me a big hug. 

"Hey have you seen Matt? " I ask Mariel. "He's not answering my texts. "

"Yeah he left with his car to meet up with someone like an hour ago. " Mariel shrugged.

"Oh okay, it's just that he was supposed to come over today... " I look down.

"He'll be back. " She smiled and patted my hand. Then she walked out from my room.

Mariel has this beautiful long hair that I am jealous of. I slip a couple of fingers under my beanie to see if my hair is already growing...

So I was on my phone for a while, tweeting with my fans and scrolling down my instagram. Everyone were so sweet and that really made me smile. Then I heard a car door closing. I quickly get up and stumble on my window. I get really happy seeing Matt walking to our house. I look check myself out from the mirror. Not exactly the prettiest view but there's nothing I can really do about it.

"Hey beautiful, " Matt walked in and kissed my lips. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs and arms around his body. 

"I posted the video on youtube this morning. " I said and un-wrapped my legs and stood on the bed. Matt is actually surprisingly tall or... I'm just short.

"You did!? " Matt lifted his eyebrows. "Way to go babe. " He kissed my nose. It was really sweet and I smiled.

Then I jumped down and went to the mirror. I look myself up and down. I'm wearing these cute mint-green comfy shorts and a basic tight t-shirt. I lost a lot of weight... Matthew was laying down on my bed, I didn't pay much attention to him.

"Has anyone ever told you that you have a cute butt? " Matt casually said. I opened my mouth and looked at him pretending to be in shock. Then we both just laugh and I jump right next to him. Matt kissed me but then got up without wanting to break the kiss.

"I need to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back. " 

I sat up with my legs crossed smiling to myself. I was about to get up but then Matt's phone buzzed. Now I'm not the jealous type and I never would read his messages, but I accidentally saw a text that said,

I miss u a lot... When will we meet again? Messing around with you was so fun haha

And a kissing emoji. The text was from this girl from our high-school and she happens to know that we're dating. Matt came out from the bathroom and I look at him.

"What's wrong? " He asked clearly worried.

"Look Matt you know that I respect your privacy but your phone was on my bed and I accidentally saw a text from Veronica... Can you please explain this to me. " Matt grabbed his phone. I just stare at him wishing it would be nothing.

"Matt please say something. " I'm trying to stay calm. He looked down and sat next to me on my bed.

"Okay I don't know how to say this. Please just hear me out and don't get mad... "

I knew what was going to happen. No, not again I can't believe this is really happening.

"After you left London and I flew to Los Angeles, I was hanging out with Carter and Nash. Then I bumped to Veronica and we just started hanging out. I was really mad and hurt... Mia I'm so sorry I swear it meant nothing to me, I just wanted to have my revenge and I know it was a stupid idea. "

I closed my eyes and asked Matt a question.

"How long have you seen each other? " 

Matt hesitated for a second. I realized It was while I was at the hospital, I can't believe he would actually do that to me.

"Mia I thought you wanted me to move on and I thought I lost you so I was really down and needed someone to cheer me up. "

I was so hurt. I didn't even answer him, Veronica knew that we were dating and that I was at the fricking hospital and still she would go and do that.

"Well I didn't expect you to bring a new girl to my fucking funeral! " I raise my voice. I'm so angry at Matt for doing this. "And the fact that you saw her while I was at the ICU... " My eyes are filling in with water and I'm trying so hard to hold back my anger.

"Well you kissed Cameron! " Matt tried to defend himself.

"Matt you know what happened, I didn't kiss Cam. He kissed me and I didn't know he had feelings for me. You've been seeing Veronica for a while now! "

"Well now you know how it felt. "

"Get out. Never talk to me again Matt. " I cry. I got up from the bed and opened my door. He looked at me and I just stared him right back crying. He hurt me so damn bad.
