Chapter 23: The Kiss

We took two cars so we could drive to the beach. Cam said he would drive leaving Sarah on the front seat and me, Matt and Taylor on the backseat. Cameron turned on the radio and we were driving windows open with music blasting loud. We were listening to Rude and Taylor was singing along.

"Taylor stop! You sound like a dying seagull! " Cameron laughed.

"I think you're talented Taylor. Keep up the good work, " Sarah said laughing showing off her deep dimples.

"Thank you I appreciate it Sarah. " Taylor said. 

"Matt what's up with that sexy bucket hat anyway? " Cam asked Matt and we all laughed. 

"Your dimples are adorable. " Cam mentioned to Sarah smiling. She blushed and hid her face.

"Stop it! " She smiled.

Matt placed his hand on my knee and I kissed his cheek. He looked right in to my eyes and we stared at each other for a while.

"What is it? " I asked him. 

"You're so cute. " He said to me still looking at my eyes. I smiled and leaned my head on his shoulder. Taylor was talking on the phone with someone and Sarah was watching out from the window. We drove for a while and arrived to the beach. Nash, Carter, Aaron and Jack J arrived right after us. 

"We don't have beaches like this in Finland you know. " Sarah said amazed by the view.

"Where's Gilinsky? " Taylor asked Johnson.

"He's on a date with Mariel. " Jack answered and rolled his eyes.

"No more kinky Gilinsky huh? More like romantic Gilinsky! " Aaron laughed. 

It's warm outside and we pulled our shirts off. I have white infinity shaped bikini top and shorts on and Sarah has this black bandeau under her sweater. 

"First one in the water is getting a kiss! " Taylor yelled and the boys pulled their shirts off running towards the sea. They were pushing each other and messing around in the waves. Cameron jumped in to the water first and flipped his hair. 

"That makes me the winner. " He smirked and looked at me smiling. 

"Don't you even think about kissing my girl. " Shirtless Matt said and pushed Cameron under water. Sarah and I were laughing yet feeling sorry for Cam. Matt's jogging out from the water, grabbed my waist with his right hand on my neck and kissed my lips. I grope his hair messing around with it. He bit my jaw line making me giggle.

"Ow stop Matty! " I squealed laughing.

Nash started to make vines with Johnson and Carter. They were messing around in the water as usual, Taylor almost dropped Aaron's phone in to the sea so they started wrestling. Then we all played some volleyball but I didn't take part because I'm not feeling too good. I sat down on the sand leaning onto my knees.

"Honey are you okay? " Matt asked me and sat down next to me looking worried. "Mia? " He asked and touched my cheek.

"Matt I'm losing it. " Everything started to get blurry, I grabbed Matt's hand and squeezed it as I closed my eyes. I can't feel my body anymore. I feel Matt grabbing my back and neck and yelling something to Sarah. I refuse to faint and I try to keep myself awake but I just can't do it. Everything went black.

Sarah's POV

"Sarah go get her shots from the car! Quickly! " Matt yelled at me and I ran to his car. I've never seen her like this and I'm starting to panic.

"Keep calm now Sarah. " I whisper to my self as I run through Mia's bag looking for her medicines. I throw the stuff on the car seat and finally find her shots. Matt's carrying Mia bridal style to the car the boys following him. I look at him with the needle on my hands. 

"Matt I can't do it. " I say to him my voice shaking.  He gently places her on the ground and takes the shots from my hand. Tears start falling from my eyes and I kneel down next to her. 

"I'm calling the ambulance. " Cam said and dialed 911. 

"Someone bring water! " Matt said to Taylor and Nash and they ran to the refreshment booth asking for a bottle of water. Mia's still not waking up and I take her hand.

"Mia can you hear me!? " I cry though I know she can't hear us. 

The ambulance arrives to the shore making a lot of people wonder what's going on. I step a little back so they can carry her in to the car. Nash takes my hand and the tears run down my face, watching her senseless body being carried to the ambulance is painful. Matt gets in to the car with her, I push my way closer and ask could I go too.

"Sorry, one friend only. " They answer and close the doors. I watch as the car drives away taking Matt and Mia with it. The people walk away and I just stand there crying not being able to move.

"I'll take you home Sarah. " Cameron said and opens his arms. I go closer and he pulls me in for a hug. I press my head against his chest and try to hold back my tears.

"I'm just so worried. I know she's not healthy, my mother warned me about it before I flew here. It's just..." I can't end the sentence. I feel pressure in my lungs and I try to calm down so I could finish what I was going to say. "It's just so hard to see your bestfriend dying and not being able to do anything about it. " I say. Cameron hugs me even tighter. 

"I know how you feel but she's going to be fine, trust me Sarah. " 

We all got in to our cars,  Nash came with me and Cam while Carter, Jack, Taylor and Aaron went with Jack's car. Nash sat on the back seat and I went for shot-gun. I just looked out from the window trying not to worry too much about Mia. Thinking about her in a hospital bed makes me really sad and upset. Why do bad things happen to good people anyway?

Cameron is driving and once a while he looked at me. He's actually really good looking plus, he has a sweet personality. We arrived to our houses but I didn't get up from the car. Nash opened his door.

"I'm gonna go now, you guys can stay in the car. " He said and got up, before he closed the door he looked in and said,

"Oh and Cam, what about that kiss back at the beach? " He laughed and closed the door.

Cam chuckled and pulled his hair a little. I looked at his perfect little smile. Gosh he's so cute.

"I'm sorry about Nash. " He said awkwardly and looked at me.

"I don't mind, " I shrugged. He first looked at my eyes, then my lips and back at my eyes. 

"You okay? " He asked and gave a little smile.

"Yeah I'm okay, thanks for asking. " I smiled back at him. Then he took my hand and said,

"Well I'm here for you. " He pulled me into a hug. I pressed my face against his shoulder. When we pulled apart he didn't let go of my waist. We just stared each other for a second and he gently touched my cheek.

Then I went for it. I pressed my lips against his soft ones and I felt  butterflies in my belly. His hands are on my hips and mine are on his neck, our lips slowly moved in sync. Suddenly he pulled away. I lift my eyebrows, he looks worried.

"I need  to tell you something Sarah, " Cameron said and took his hand away. I got a little confused and fixed my hair.

"What is it? " I look at his eyes and he looks at mine.

"I'm in love with Mia. "
