=•Colby's POV•=

I stayed under water for a little bit longer then went to the surface and dragged myself out of the water, onto the surface of the gave.

"Find anything?" Corey asks as he kneels down beside me. "Nah nother" I tell him as I notice Corey glancing at my tail. "Wanna touch it?!" I say as a smile appears on both of our faces. Corey nods his head happily as his hand moves from his side to the surface of my tail. He sways his hand over it then takes it away. "Cool..." He says as his voice trails off.
All of a sudden Sam's voice echoes through the cave.
"GUYS! I - I found Th-The entrance..." His voice huffs and puffs as if he's been running.
"what? How?" Elton asks as Sam slowly jogs in.
"i-i ran for a-a while... Then fell in - in a hole and BAM *dramatically throws hands in air* I was here" Sam says he puts his hands on his knees and pants.
Then I start laughing, Sam is such a guy... He wouldn't swim in the ocean but he'd run around aimlessly looking for the entrance to this gods dang cave.
"Sam! You're killing me..." I say while laughing as Sam's lips turn into a nervous smile.
I watched as Sam took a step towards the water and looked into the pool. "See anything?" I ask him as I catch his attention and he turns to me. "Hm? No sorry, I saw something... last time we were here. I think I was just seeing things since I was so nervous" Sam explains to me as I nod.

"Wait so how do you... um, turn back?" Sam asks carefully. I shrug in response as Elton removes his shirt then toses it to me. "Use this to dry off" He informs me as we all give him a weird stare. "What? Have none of you seen any mermaid shows? The change is caused by getting I contacted with water, so they turn back by drying off. Come on guys this is mermaid 101!" Elton exclaims as I let out a puff of air through my nose and start rubbing the tail.
"So is there really nothing magical in this cave?" Corey asks with a hint of disappointment in his voice.
"There was nothing on the bottom of the pool and nothing in here..." I tell them as my voice trails off.
Elton walks over to a corner of the cave and grabs a rock that was on the ground, he hoists it up and smashes it against the rock wall, leaving a small dent in the hard rocks. He tried again, and again until there was a hole. "What's that for?" Sam asks nervously. "There's got to be something in here..." Elton mumbles as he feels the rocks with his fingertips. He grabs a small rock and examines it before rubbing it on his swim shorts, revealing it's true form. A dark blue...

"Woah..." We all take a moment to take this is. "Think it's magical?" Corey asks as Elton shrugs.

In that moment my body went limp and I was human again. "WOah!" Sam takes a step back.
I stand up and brush off my clothes... yeah it's weird how I turn back fully clothed....

Elton hands me the rock and we decide to head back to the beach.

As we start to head towards the exit of the cave I turn back towards the pool.
A small blue spec catches my eye, I bend down and see it's a scale...

I stash that and the rock in my pocket then dash after the guys.

"Wait Sam did you leave all of our stuff on the beach?" Corey asks as we all realize all our stuff was being guarded by Sam, but he's here now...
"Don't worry I hid the stuff in the forest" Sam says as we all let out a sigh of relief.

As we head out towards the exit of the cave I take one last glance back and see nothing unusual.
I turn back and race after my friends.
The walk home was pretty quite, mostly because I was having an 'oh shit' moment.

I can't touch water in public...
Or go to pools
Or go out in the rain....
This'll be fun...

We made it back to the beach and found our things. Then we started thinking on how to get home.
"We can take the bus?" Corey wonder as Elton shakes his head. "The busses don't come out here, only cabs and taxi's and they'll charge us a fortune to ride back into the city" Elton explains as we all nod in agreement.
"I can get my sister to pick us up? Not the coolest thing ever but she's off work and I don't think she'll mind" Sam says as we all shrug. "What other option do we have? Call her" I tell Sam as he nods and walks a little while away so he can talk to her.

Elton turned to me and asks "Do you still have the rock from the cave?" I shove my hand into my pocket and fish it out. "How did you even know that was in there?" I ask him curiously. "I didn't... But I knew that there'd be something hiding since it's some type of magical fucking cave" Elton says as he examines the rock more closely.

Sam walked back towards us and told us that his sister had started driving.

While we waited we took a seat on a curb separating the sand from the pavement.
"So Colby what's this thing you have with Brad's crew?" Corey asks me as I notice Sam shrink back a little bit at the mention of his name.
"Brad and his crew try to recruit me but I really saw them in their demonic side today... Over my dead body am I gonna join them" I tell the others as they nod.
"And Sam, bro what's with this fear of water?" Elton asks, trying not to sound insensitive.
Sam looked surprised by the question but asked thinking about it for a moment he replied with. "It's some form of PTSD... Long story that's for another day..." His voice trails off as we decide to drop the subject.

The car that belonged to Sam's sister soon entered the parking lot and we all stood up and walked towards it.

"Thanks for coming" Sam says as she opens her windows. "I still can't believe they just left you guys here" She shakes her head. "Yeah..." I say cause well technically they wouldn't have been able to find us since we were at that over cove.

"Anyways... Put your bags in the back and hop in" She tells us.
