WELCOME TO THE NEW CHAPTER!

Wednesday was coming quicker then anyone could have imagined. Jessie was planning with Frank the night before, making sure everything was in place, texting Colby to insure they were still on for 7:00 pm at the movies.

On the other hand, it was Tuesday night, and Sam was over at Colby's house. He'd been called over there when Colby said that there was an emergency. The blonde had arrived to find out it wasn't anything serious like he'd thought.

"I can't choose what to wear" Colby told Sam as the blonde rolled his eyes, stepping into his friend's house.
"I thought something happened!" he sighed as he followed the brunette into his room where he had various articles of clothes scattered around the room. By the end of the night, the two had picked out a pretty decent outfit for a first offical date.

Sam was hesitant about helping Colby since he was kinda jealous that it wasn't him who Colby was going out with, but he's come to terms with his feelings. Which he's been represseing ever since the two met. Sam was just happy to be his best friend, even though he wishes it was more, but he knows Colby dosen't feel the same way...

"So what do you think? Is this the winner?" Colby asked as he did a little spin to show off the outfit they'd just picked out. It was a mix of casual and just a little something more. They'd picked out a dark grey and black striped long sleeve shirt, accompanied by Colby's iconic black ripped jeans.

"Yeah, it looks great on you" Sam smiles happily.

Everything looked good on him...

Sam kept that to himself as he watched Colby who turned towards the mirror and happily smiled at their choice of clothes. The blonde diverted his eyes away from his friend, knowing that he'd been staring for too long, diverting his attention towards his cup of water that he'd placed on Colby's bedside table.

Noticing that all of the ice he'd previously added to his water had melted. He nods at Colby before asking him to do the honours. His merman friend smiled sheepishly before raising his hand out in front of him, pointing it at the cup of warm water and straightening out his fingers.

Learning to freeze things wasn't too challenging. It was a little rocky at the beginning of course, but it was pretty similar to fire, so he had the whole freezing things pretty down pat.

Taking a moment to calm down his anxious mind, he glanced over to Sam who was happily sitting on his bed. Within a minute the water was frozen.

"Ah, I didn't know it came with a 10 minute wait time" Sam joked as Colby's eyes went wide, realizing that he had frozen all of the water, instead of just cooling it down.

"Crap! Give me a minute..." He mumbled before clenching his fingers into a fist. Letting the frustration from his powers slowly come into mind. Using his emotions seemed to be the best way to trigger his powers, he just needed to know how much to let in.

When he was done, the cup was left with a light layer of ice on top of the cool water. Sam cautiously picked it up and took a sip. Then cool water flooding his dry mouth.

"Pretty good!" He gave his friend a thumbs-up as Colby smiled happily.

Colby tapped his foot anxiously against the sticky floor of the movie theater's main lobby. He showed up 10 minutes early because he wanted to make sure he didn't want her waiting on him. Knowing there wouldn't be any texts, he checked his phone. Just in case Jessie messaged him.
