"So the full moon is in a week..." Sam stated as I looked up to my screen where Sam and I were Skyping.

"Yeah, I know. It's odd... I can almost feel my powers, growing? Since the full moon is getting closer" I explain as Sam nods his head.

"Have you used them lately?"

"By using them do you mean accidentally boiling my soup when my parents lectured me out my grades slipping, then yes. I have used them lately"

"Oh dang man, do you think you'll be ready for this?"

All I do is shrug in response. "I don't even know what to expect at this point"

"Wanna get some more practice in before the big day?" Sam asks me as I raise an eyebrow.

"Why? What do you have in mind?"

An hour later I found myself boarding up to Sam's house, once I got there he began leading me through a forest near his house.

"We're almost there," He tells me as I look up ahead at the forest we're walking through.

"And what exactly is this thing we're looking for?" I ask while Sam turns and winks at me as he says how  I'll have to wait and see.

Sure enough, after another 5 minutes, we walk into a clearing with a dark building sitting in the middle.

"Woah... What is this place?" I ask Sam as I stop to stare at the graffiti lining its exterior walls.

"It's an abandoned warehouse" My friends put simply.

"And- uh how did you find this place?"

"When you have an entire summer to yourself in a new city with no friends, you do a lot of solo exploring" Sam explains before he continues to lead me towards the building.

Once we're inside, I realize that how evident it is that it's abandoned. There's no sign of life. The floor is dirty, almost all the windows are broken, and most if not all of the walls have some sort of graffiti on them.

"Damn," I say as I do a little spin to get a better look at the place. "And what does this have t do with my-" I start to ask before I turn to Sam and watch him as he shoots water at me with a super soaker. "What the fu-" I rapidly moving out of the way just as the water shoots the floor.

"What the hell man!" I ask, Sam doesn't respond, verbally, instead, he shoots me again. So I duck out of the way. He shot at me about another 2 times before finally talking.

"Use your fricken powers! You said you wanted to practise, so here we are"

Finally, it all makes sense...

So when Sam aims to shoot me again I steady my feet on the ground and keep them there while I stand tall. When the trigger is pulled I raise my right hand Eleven style and prey to god that this will work.

I think Sam and I were both kinda shocked when the water evaporated mid air before it could hit me. We just stood in silence as I lowered my hand and looked at my fingers.

"You did it!" Sam smiles at me as he drops the water gun.

It took a moment for me to realize "It worked!" I exclaimed as Sam runs up to me and high fives me.

After an hour of practicing, Sam had decided to up the stakes.

I stood in the main area of the warehouse by myself with my eyes closed while Sam was somewhere on the second floor, preparing to spray me.
