Dallas' POV
The school week leaves as quickly as it came. Weekend is now in session. Yippee right? Well not for me. For some time now burying my head in books saves me from all the stress of flashbacks from the past and school has helped me a lot in that aspect.
"Hello Dallas. Whatcha doing?" She chirps in a sing-song voice and skips in a jolly manner to my room.
Of course you guys know the she I'm talking about. 'She' as in she-tigress. Wow. For the first time I'm actually saying bad English. She-tigress...
I shake my head as usual. "What do you want?"
"Jeez. No need to get all twitchy. Is it bad to ask a person what he or she is doing?"
I notice that she is overly cheerful today. No rude remarks and comebacks. That is really creeping me out. More like making me suspicious of her. And I know that nothing she does to get back at me for what I did to her will actually succeed but I can't help but keep my guard up around her for now.
"No. Except when it's coming from someone who I really dislike."
She rolls her eyes at me and replies "Too bad I can't actually hide that fact. Anyways your mom told me that she needs you for something."
I groan, drop the book I'm reading and get up from bed. But Yvonne still doesn't leave my room. I shrug and go to the kitchen to meet my mom.
"Mom you called for me?"
"Oh yes yes. The thing is I need to get somewhere urgently and there is a shortage of groceries in the house so I need you to get to the supermarket and get them."
"Okay mom." I say straight away and collect the money and grocery list from her. I would have grumbled other days but I just need to be away from Yvonne for some time. She is terribly annoying.
"Oh and you can take Yvonne with you to help you carry some stuff if it gets too much for you. Or would you rather prefer Alex?"
"Please Alex would be okay for me." I reply rather too quickly. Mom even looks taken aback by my quick statement.
"Al... righty then." She says slowly and walks to the front door.
"Okay bye."
I wave and put my hands in my pockets as she leaves.
"Hey buddy." I say when I see Alex. "Want to go to the supermarket with me?"
"Yeah sure. I don't really have anything doing right now anyway."
"Okay get ready. We might even make a stop at Starbucks on our way back."

We are already at the supermarket and I'm looking through the list of things we haven't taken.
I look up from the grocery list to Alex and decide to create a conversation.
"So... How's your first few weeks of school after the holiday?"
"Good."
"Okay... And how's the 8th grade treating you?"
"Good."
"Okay."
"You can just say it you know."
"Say what?"
"Talk about how annoying my sister is. I know you have been wanting to complain about her behavior. Trust me if I were you I would snap. You've got some backbone. Tolerating her." He replies while putting some fruits into the basket.
"What I don't really get is how you tolerate her."
"I just don't cross her path more often than is needed. She isn't that bad though. She has her good times and bad times. Like a moody princess. And just like me she has been thoroughly pampered. So I'm sure you would expect that attitude from someone like her."
"I don't think I will ever be able to get along with her."
"As time passes you will be able to adjust to her behavior. Don't worry about that."
In my mind I think and doubt the fact that Yvonne and Alex are related. Yvonne doesn't talk with meaning but this dude in front me talks like he isn't an eighth grade student but an eighty year old man with so much knowledge and wisdom.
"What do you want to be when you grow up?" I ask him.
"Excuse me?" He asks with a puzzled expression.
"What do you want your future career to be? I know it sounds like a very cliche question but just answer me."
"Well I'm not quite sure as of now."
"You should be a lawyer." I reply as we get to the cash desk and the cashier checks out our stuff.
He starts laughing. "Now that I do not wish to do."
"Why? You have the charisma and aura of a lawyer not to mention the way you talk. You talk way better than your sister. Like you're her older brother and not the other way round."
"I don't know about that either."
"I'm serious about what I'm saying."
He just shrugs as we leave the supermarket.

"What?!!!!!??! Hdfgcjkknjifjklchbb!!!!!" I manage to say when I get home.
What I see scares the sh*t out of me.
A hoard of ants are crawling everywhere in the kitchen from the cupboards to the store to the kitchen sink. Everywhere. I see the trail of ants and follow it up to my room and a humongous ant is spawning out the smaller ones and is right on my bed.
"Eeeeeek!!!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!" I scream. "Yvonne! Alex!!!! Please come now!!!! Help me!!!!!"
"Dallas what's the matt..." Alex begins to say until he stops and looks at the monster in my bedroom. The both of us start to scream until Yvonne comes to my room and starts laughing uncontrollably.
Alex and I just look at her with puzzled expressions planted on our faces.
Alex crawls to her and says, "Why are you laughing? That ant could attack us at any time and even use us for its lunch and you're here laughing?"
"You...thought...that...that...was a real thing?" She stutters as she is still laughing her head off.
"What do you mean by that?" I say slowly trying to recollect her words.
"And you. You should have seen or should I say heard yourself. You were screaming like such a little girl. Aww. Are you okay my widdle pumpkin? Don't wowwy evwything will be alright. Okay?" She coos at me and I begin to scowl.
"He says and I quote." She begins to clear her throat and say, " 'I never knew empty-headedness was actually a real thing until I met you. You just turn out to be a living example of that fact.' Who's the empty headed person here now huh?" she asks awkwardly victory dancing.
I smirk and look at her straight in the eyes replying "You just started World war 3 Yvonne. I think you should watch your back now on."
"Whatever. At least I got my revenge!!!!!" She says in maniacal way and rubs her two hands together like a typical villain would.
I just shake my head at her.
Just watch what I will do to you.
