Yvonne's POV

I'm utterly hideous.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no." I panic, literally bringing down my entire closet. Walking to the mirror a couple of times renders me no help as I cringe every time I mistakenly catch a glimpse of myself.

What happened?

What happened to my perfect... everything?

Even after a beauty bath, I feel fat, my face feels swollen, my eyes feel like they are about to pop out like slinkies, and my hair is completely out of accord. I feel like my entire existence is crumbling down brutally, leaving blob in its wake.

I stop in front of the mirror again, raising one of my legs. Like the goatish human being I'm morphing into, I poke the fat on my hips. My popped out eyes examine it as it look likes it jiggles.

"You have a perfect everything, Yvonne." Crystal voice breaks the silence in the room as she walks in, carrying stuff cooconed in long outfit covers, hand holding on to their hangers casually over one shoulder. I turn and my shoulders droop in panic, hands on my hips. She lays them on the bed. "You know usually, I'm the one in these sorts of situations."

"God bless your kind soul." I say and run to the bed, body clad in only my bra and panties. I have a lot of dresses but I already wore all of them for some event or the other. They don't seem special in any way. Even the golden pencil gown with triangular neckline that accentuated my curves.

I start trying them on. The first one is a purple one with neck ruffles, with a slit on the left side up to my thigh. I come out the closet. Crystal rubs her chin. "Okay, this is nice."

"But I just feel like it might be a bit too much for a wedding,"

"Well, I-"

"I mean I wouldn't even know anyone so what's the need to wear such a dress? Right?"

"Of course-"

"It must be not too elegant but elegant enough, simple but not overly simple. Maybe showing a little bit of my curves but not provocative, and-"

"Dude," Crystal walks up to me and places her hands on my shoulders. "you're overthinking all this. This date is going to be epic. Hold up." She picks up one of the hangers, zipping the cover down a little, looking for something. She checks some until she comes across one. "Here it is."

"It's not a date." I say, taking it from her and zipping it down, taking out the outfit. A big smile plays across my lips as I pull Crystal close to me in a big hug, giving her a slobbery kiss on her cheek. "You're an angel."

"Okay, okay now. Thank me later." She raises up a mascara like a weapon. "It's time to do some make up."

"And don't forget about your hair!" Someone hollers and a head of full hair pops through the door.

"Gemma!" I give her a bear hug. "How's Hugh and his adorable accent?"

"They're both good." She says. "So, tell me about this date." Crystal chuckles, not saying a word and I give her a glare.

"It's not a date." I correct, taking a seat in front of my vanity mirror.

"Sure it is. And when the couple make their wedding vows, the both of you will stare at each other with such affection like nothing else and vow to be each other's soulmates with your eyes." I roll my eyes. "And then, you guys will become one, forever."

"Wow. Such a poetic tongue, Gemma. And maybe a  beautiful love song in the background. You know, to add effect to the whole set-up." My lips show my teeth in fake excitement.
