Yvonne's POV

"I can explain everything." I say, jitterring with fear.

"Yeah. That's what I just asked you to do." He crosses his arms.

I take a deep breath. This is it. Tell him.

"Okay so you remember the time that we got drunk?"

"Yeah?" He asks. His face shows an expression similar to that of fear and I notice he's trying to cover it up but he's failing miserably.

"Well..." I start, looking down. "You kinda told me about your past life."

I look up to see his face expressionless. I stare at his face more to see if I can decipher what he's thinking but I can't.

He doesn't reply. He doesn't even acknowledge me anymore and starts walking the opposite direction.

"Dallas!" I scream his name and run after him.

"Dallas!" I repeat.

"What do you want?" He responds harshly.

"Just give me a chance to explain" I say with pleading eyes.

"You just did that. And I think I've taken in more explanation than I can handle."

"I can't quite put my finger on what exactly it is you feel at the moment. I know I should have told you that you divulged to me such a sensitive information-"

"Yeah, you should have!"

"-but I was afraid." I continue."What made me even more scared is the fact that I had a phone call yesterday. When I asked who it was there was silence at first. But then I heard the person say, 'Tell Xander I'm back from the dead sweetie and he's going to get his reward in full.' "

"S-so t-the person I thought was dead all this while was not actually dead?" He asks in anger and I nod.

"And now he's terrorizing me. Calling me and sending me scary messages. I don't even know what to do anymore." I say, running my hands through my hair frustratedly.

"What exactly are the sort of things he says?"

"Things like he's back to get his revenge and I should not dare act smart with him or else I will be guilty of what will happen to you."

"Max." Dallas says his name and stares into space. "Max. You tricked me. Got me feeling all guilty for two good years. I changed because I wasn't proud of that life. The life that caused your death. I was everything I have been in the past two years all because of you."

I feel something wet on my cheek again. Tears. How can a sane person make a person feel guilty for that long? Well maybe the guy isn't sane. And for what reason does he want revenge?

He breaks out of his trance and looks to me again, and answering my thoughts he says,

"I deserve it anyway. Maybe this is punishment for choosing the wrong path. For making the worst decision I could ever make in my lifetime."

"I told you already it's not your fault." I mutter.

He laughs sarcastically. "It is. Even if he's still alive it is."

He looks so broken down that can't take it anymore so I hug him.

He looks taken aback at first but leans in to me more, placing his head on my neck. I guess all he needs is comfort. Even when he thought Max died, nobody was there to comfort him. He wouldn't have wanted the help anyway.

He leaves my hold and stands up straight. "No more of this, Yvonne I appreciate the comfort but that's not what I need now. He's probably after my life and we need to take measures so that you won't be in danger."

"We don't even know where he may attack from or in what way he may do it. How will we be able to-"

We are interrupted by my phone ringing again. I look at the screen and fear immediately seeps through me. I hold my phone up to show Dallas who it is and his expression immediately hardens.
"Hello." I begin when I pick the call, trying to sound like I'm not afraid.

Talon chuckles. "So you finally had the courage to tell Dallas. That's really impressive. For a second there you looked like a Baboon." I immediately look around.

"Are you watching me?" I ask baffled.

"Like a hawk." He replies smugly.

Dallas takes my hand and leads me to his car. I look at him and he has a clearly shown -we need to get outta here- expression.

"Talon please leave us alone." I plead.

"Us? Is Dallas there with you? Oh, no need to lie. I know he is."

We get in and Dallas starts the car, zooming off.
"Now listen carefully. Like I told you before, don't act smart with me and tell Dallas that you want to go for a quick stop. If things go as planned, I will take him captive."

"Are you mad? What makes you think I would do that? You really are a maniac!" I scream.

"Stop screaming young lady and just do as you are told." He orders.

"And if I don't?" I ask, trying to sound tough.

"You already know what will happen." At that he hangs up.

"He wants to kidnap you." I say to Dallas.

Dallas runs his hands through his hair frustratedly and says, "Why is he doing everything up front? Does he not know that the police might get him? He's too confident for my liking."

"Let's ignore his command and get home first before we do anything." I advise.

"Okay. Let's do that."

When we get home, we see Alex and Alyssa at gunpoint by some men and they look at me with dread in their eyes.

My phone rings again and I pick the call, slowly bringing it up to my ear.

"I said to do as you were told didn't I? Now you will suffer the consequences."

"No. I can't let this happen."

"It's already happening lady. Now you have two options. Surrender or watch your loved ones die." Then he hangs up for what seems like the hundredth time.

I'm definitely not going to let this happen. I think and cunningly use my phone to dial 911 without the men knowing.

Dallas looks at me with so much guilt in his eyes. "I shouldn't have brought you into all this. I'm really sorry."

"Don't be." I reply. The last thing I want is for him to feel overly guilty about all this. He has suffered too much guilt already.

The men are about to shoot us when I scream. "Help! Please help me they want to kill us!"

"Yvonne No!" Dallas shouts but it's too late. I feel a sharp pain on my abdomen and collapse to the ground.

"Yvonne can you hear me? Yvonne! Oh God please no! This can't happen. Yvonne!!! Plea...." I don't hear him anymore as darkness takes over me.
