Dallas' POV

"....directly proportional to the square of the radius." I mumble as I tap my pen on my book, racking my brain on a Physics question.

"Get the cooties off! Get them off!" I hear Alex frustratedly say and I hear Yvonne laughing. Alex's room is opposite mine so I can vividly hear everything they are saying.

I chuckle a little. Those two. But my expression immediately turns serious when I think of the conversation in the car.

When I glanced at Yvonne during the conversation she looked uneasy. Like she has something she's hiding. Woah. How do I know her that much? Guess I've been spending too much time with her. God help me.

What really surprised me though was the amount of missed calls I had of Mary. Why exactly was she calling me like that? It's not like I died or ran away or something like that.

When it's time for dinner, Yvonne's face is down. Literally. She just has her eyes fixed on her food and nothing else as she eats it.

Puzzled, I kick her leg from my side of the table and she snaps her head up as though under a spell, and stares at me in horror.

Then I raise my eyebrows in curiosity and mouth to her, what's the problem?

She shakes her head and continues eating. Okay, other days I would have minded my own business but I just feel curious to know what has gotten her so fidgety.

When her phone buzzes she jumps in shock, staring at the phone in dread and slowly picking it up from the table.

My mom asks, "Um Yvonne? Is anything the matter?"

"N-nothing." She stutters and looks at her phone screen. Her face immediately relaxes.

What exactly is wrong with her?

When dinner is over she immediately starts walking in the direction of her room. I get up, quickening my pace and hold her arm stopping her. She stiffens.

"Yvonne." I say. "What's going on?"

"What? What do you mean?" She asks, looking at me with a weak smile on her face and her eyes wide.

Looks like she's trying to behave like nothing's wrong. And she's failing miserably. I'm hoping to get to the bottom of things.

"It's just you were behaving weird at dinner." I mention.

"Oh. That. I'm just not feeling so good." She states.

I narrow my eyes at her and cross my arms. "I know what the issue is."

"You do?" She asks, her head jerking up.

"Of course, you're homesick. That's why you're not feeling so good. Isn't it?"

I watch her breathe a silent sigh of relief and say, "Yeah I guess that must be it." She says.

"Okay, I'll allow you to rest."

"Goodnight then."

As she turns to go to her room, I call her again.

"Ummm Yvonne?"

"Yes?" She turns around and asks.

"Would like to hang out with me tomorrow? I was just thinking since it's the weekend." I say scratching the back of my head.

She hesitates for a moment, blinking twice. Yeah, I know, I know. I dislike her. But I just thought it would be okay to be nice to her for a change. And, I want to know what is making her so uneasy.

Right now she's probably contemplating whether or not she should accept.

"Okay." She finally says.

"Goodnight then."

She walks into her room and I head the opposite direction.

The next afternoon, (Because, fortunately Yvonne woke up in the afternoon) we go to one of my favourite Chinese restaurants. I love Chinese food.

"Nǐ hǎo." I greet the chinese people there and start conversing with them in fluent Chinese. When I glance at Yvonne her mouth is agape in amazement and my lips twitch up a little. We get seated and she is still fidgety. I just fold my arms watching her intently. As she eats she glances at phone occasionally, tapping her feet on the floor.

"I know something's wrong Yvonne." I finally say.

She snaps her head up. "What? Nothing's wrong."
"Then why are you behaving like your pants are on fire?" I ask.

She doesn't answer and looks everywhere but me,then focusing on her food again.

I sigh. "Look. I know that we haven't been on good terms since you came. But if there's anything wrong, please just tell me."

Immediately her phone rings. "Sorry I have to get this." She scurries out.

I run my hands through my nose in frustration. Why do I even care anyway? She doesn't want to tell me anything so I'll leave her to her fate. Let her do what she wants.

15 minutes later and she still hasn't come back. I start to feel uneasy. I get up and go outside to look for her.

After some time, I hear her voice faintly.

"...you don't understand. I think there must be some sort of mistake." She pauses. "What did you even say your name is? Okay, Talon. What exactly is it you want from me?"

On hearing that name my body stiffens. All color drains out of my face. Talon?! What? Confused, I eavesdrop more.

"How do you even know that I know about the relationship between you two? Just. Please stop calling this number. Just stop." She pauses again, and it's like the person says something threatening because her expression becomes that of morbid fear.

Okay this is getting too much. I need answers. I think. So I walk to where she is, making my presence known.

She looks up. On knowing it's me, her phone drops to the ground because of shock.

"Would you like to explain what is going on?!" I say raising my voice.
