2 weeks later
Laying back in the bed I listened to Rachel and Daniel going at it again. Groaning I flung my pillow over my face and groaned into it. I thought after our conversation it would end but I guess that was too much to ask for. Feeling the pain in my chest I gripped it harder. The pain was getting harder to ignore. Needing space I got up and slipped on leggings and my hoodie. Grabbing my back pack I headed out the door. Walking to the training field I quickly scaled the trees and got to the top. Setting up my hammock I lounged back in it and stared at the open sky. Counting the stars I stuck my leg out and rocked the hammock. Feeling myself fall asleep for the first time in a week, I slowly drifted in and out.
An ear splitting howl woke me the next morning. Startled I found myself falling out of my hammock. Grabbing a branch nearby I caught myself. Hoisting myself up, I packed up my hammock and threw it in my bag. Jumping down I ran back to the house, entering I rushed up to my room where I saw Daniel yelling at Hank and Keith. Seeing their eyes widen at me, I looked quickly at Daniel who had turned. Yelling at them to get out I stood frozen to the spot.
"Where the hell where you?" He spat out.
"Outside. I went to the training field." I tried to reason with him logically.
"Why was nobody with you?"
"Because it was late and I didn't want to wake anybody up. Besides the only person who was awake was you and you've been busy." I looked at him pointedly. I watched as he reached out and snatched my back pack.
"What the fuck is in here?"
"My stuff!" I told him trying to get it back. Before I could grab it though he had ripped it open and dug through it. All that was in there was my hammock a couple of water bottles and a granola bar.
"Were you going to leave me?" He seethed out.
"What? Why would you say that?" I asked him confused.
"You're bag." He said glaring at me. Leaning forward to rip it out of his hands I watched in horror as he shredded my hammock.
"Why?" I asked quietly. Jesse and Stephen had upgraded my hammock last year for my birthday. It was special and the last piece of them I had with me. I felt the tears welling up behind my eyes.
"You will never leave me!" He growled out.
"You don't want me!" I yelled at him. Turning I went to head toward the bathroom when I felt him wrap his hand around my arm and tug. Hearing the pop, I gasped out and tried to smack him off, making him squeeze harder. A scream tore through me as I felt his grip break the delicate bones in my arm. Sobbing at this time I tried to hit him with my other hand when he pinned me against the wall. Seeing his amber eyes glowing at me had me yelling out. My screams continued pitifully as I felt him sink his teeth into me. Collapsing I felt my world going dark.
Hearing the beeps of the machines, I forced my eyes open. The first sight I saw was Hank, sleeping in the chair. Trying to prop myself up I felt a sharp pain in my left arm, making me wince. Hissing out a breath I looked up when I felt the bed dip to see Hank sitting on it.
"What happened?" I rasped out.
"You don't remember?" He asked surprised.
"I remember climbing the trees in the practice field. I stayed there because Daniel was sleeping with Rachel again and I felt like I couldn't breathe. I don't remember what else happened." I told him with a shrug. Hearing him sigh, I watched as he got up and went into the hallway. I could hear him talking to someone out there so I concentrated on what he was saying.
