11 Years Later
Running through the woods I darted towards the tree and scaled it quickly. Jumping delicately between branches I made a loop before coming out the other side. Jumping down, I aimed for the ground before hitting it in a roll and continuing on. Stopping in front of Jesse I flipped his noise with a smirk.
"Why aren't you in bed. It's 4:30 in the morning." He told me sleepily. He looked disheveled with is hair sticking up at odds and ends and his sweat pants hiked up to his navel.
"Speak for yourself Urcle. I'm always awake at this hour." Walking past him into the house I kissed my dad quickly on the top of his head and went to my room for a shower. Leaning against the wall I listened to my dad and Jesse talk before I heard Stephen come in the front door and start talking with them. Grabbing my shampoo I quickly scrubbed out my long blonde tresses before conditioning them. Letting the conditioner set, I shaved and lathered up in body wash. Rinsing myself clean I stepped out of the shower and grabbed my royal blue towels. Rubbing down I finished and wrapped it around my hair before I slipped on my silk emerald green robe before heading back downstairs for coffee. Seeing my dad sitting at the table with his mug I mimed drinking and pointed at him. Seeing him smile I went and got his mug to pour us both a cup. Doctoring his up with milk I walked it back out to him. Hugging him I dashed back up the stairs and into my room. Heading over to my closet I thought about the activities for the day before choosing a deep purple sleeveless sun dress. The top was almost a sweet heart design with it's v slit in the front. The skirt flared out to mid thigh. Grabbing my gold sandals I quickly picked out my long gold chain. It was a thin chain with a hanging sapphire pendant. Dad had gotten it for me 2 years ago on our birthday. Slipping on some matching gold earrings I dried my hair into its natural kinky waves before heading downstairs. Seeing mom in the kitchen I grabbed my yogurt before bumping her with my hip. I only came up to her shoulder so I had to pop myself up a bit to hit her hip. Catching her grin I stuck my tongue out before going to have a seat at the table. Catching my dad's smirk I arched my eyebrow at him.
"You look you nice Maddie."
"We do have an alpha visiting today dad. If I remember correctly it was you who said we should dress nice and be respectable." I told him with a smile.
"You're right. I thought it may have something to do with finding your mate." Letting out a sigh I could hear my mom screech at him from the kitchen.
"Dad, I think we can give up on the whole me having a mate thing. I'm 21 now and there has been no sign. Stephen found his at 18 and Jesse will be moving out with Lianne in 3 days. I think I'm a little too old to be finding him now." Watching him smile at me sadly I smiled at him and went to throw my yogurt away. Grabbing a banana I told my parents I was going on a walk before the new Alpha got here.
"Don't give up yet pumpkin. Maybe this time. This Alpha is only a year older than you." Dad shouted after me. Sighing at his antics I struck out towards the trees.
