Moonlit Forever

Maddie POV

Rummaging through the closet I was pulling out my dresses to hang in a garment bag when I heard the door open. Ignoring whoever it was I set about collecting the rest of my clothes and loading them into my suitcase. Looking at the two open suitcases on my bed, garment bag full of hanging clothes and bag full of shoes, I decided that was enough. I didn't plan on staying with him forever. Zipping my bags closed I glanced up and saw Hank standing at the door, looking on impassively. Walking past him I went into the bathroom and put all my things inside my travel shower bag. Taking that back out I threw it into my suitcase. Sitting on the bed cross legged, I looked at Hank.

"Packed Luna?"

"I don't think I'm going to be your Luna, Hank. Why don't we stick with Maddie." Seeing his ghost of a smile I looked around and nodded. Grabbing my garment bag, and two others I gestured for him to grab the remaining bag and we headed downstairs. Throwing it in Hank's car we headed back into the house. Heading to the stairs to mope in my room some more I heard Hank's heavy footsteps behind me.

"You don't have to go to my room with me." I told him without moving.

"Yes I do. As our Luna you need to have protection and since I'm the beta, that falls on me when the Alpha isn't around." He said standing 3 steps below me. Sighing I led him to my room. Stopping outside the door I looked at him.

"Do you have to come in or can you stay out here?" I watched as he smiled at me and turned to rest his back against the wall. Going into my room I closed the door and sighed in relief. Heading over to my window I opened it and stepped out onto the roof. Sitting on the roof I brought my knees up to my chest just stared out at the place I had called home for so long. Hearing my door open I closed my eyes and buried my head in the crevice between my knees and chest. Hearing the person step over the window sill and onto the roof, I jerked my head up and locked eyes with Alpha Daniel.

"What do you want?" I hissed out at him.

"Trying to kill yourself out here?" He asked nonchalantly taking the seat next to me and lounging back.

"Not on your life." I told him turning my attention back to the view in front of me, I ignored the male next to me and soaked in the last of the sun's rays.

"Pretty out here." He told me as he leaned back on his elbows with his legs splayed out in front of him.

"Prettier in silence." I told him turning to look at him. Studying his features I noticed his strong jaw line covered in a slight stubble. His hair was a light brown and looked messy as if he had run his hands through it. Looking at his nose, I noticed the prominence of it against his face, it wasn't over powering with his jaw line. His eyes were green in color. Rippling muscles were on display under his tshirt before I jerked my eyes up to meet his. Seeing his smirk I just stood and made my way inside my bedroom. Hearing him follow and shut the window I went and sat on my bed. Gesturing for him to sit in the chair across from me I waited until he was seated.

"Don't think for one minute you've fooled me. This is not a social visit so spit out whatever you came to say." I told him leveling him with my best stare. Seeing him frown at my words, I watched as he leaned over and began to speak.

"When we leave, you're going to ride with me. I don't want a Luna but I need to establish you're position so that you are protected in my pack. You will be given a separate room, next to mine so I can monitor you. Hank will be your body guard unless I'm around. Don't count on that happening much. When these threats are taken care of we will discuss you coming back at that time. Does this work for you?" He was now gazing at me expectantly.

"Doesn't sound like I have much of a choice."

"You don't." He said with a smirk.

"Then it's fine." I told him with a saucy smile. Seeing him get up to leave I called his name. Turning to look at me questioningly.
