Waking up as we pulled up to my house I let out a sigh. I saw my parents standing on the porch looking out at the car. Hoping out I ran up to them both and hugged them. Seeing my mom cry, I hugged her tighter. Turning I faced my dad.

"You ok punky?"

"I'll get there dad. Just need to get my stuff in now and get things back to normal. " Walking over to the car I motioned for Hank to get out. Once he stepped out I heard my dad softly growl. "Daddy, he's staying here to protect me. He isn't a bad guy." Scoffing at him, I let him get a sheepish look on his face before I grabbed my bags and told Hank to follow me. Running up the stairs, I put Hank in the room across from mine. Walking in I saw that everything was where I had left it. Smiling I dropped my suitcases and fell onto my bed. Making blanket angels like I used to when I was a kid I started to giggle to myself when I heard the door open. I guiltily looked up at my mom when I saw her enter.

"Enjoying your bed?" she said with a smirk. Laughing I continued rolling around in my bed, happy to be at home. Feeling her sit on the edge of the bed I rolled over to her and put my head in her lap. Rubbing my hair we sat in silence for a bit before she started talking.

"My poor poor baby."

"I'm ok mom." I told her again.

"Baby, your arm is broken , your shoulder dislocated, you were marked and then he tried to mark someone else and you were hospitalized two days running. Don't you even go there with the I'm ok mom. Let me baby you and think that you are my poor poor baby." Laughing I sat up and hugged her.

"I'm ok mom. Really. I knew he never wanted me." I told her with a shrug. Hearing her sigh, I told her what had happened with the pack and how they recognized me as the true Luna. She just sat quietly for a minute.

"He's going to have a long road ahead of him." She finally uttered.

"I know. He did this to himself though." Nodding her agreement she stroked my hair. "The hardest part was leaving the pack." I whispered out.

"I know baby. You are a true Luna. You would have bonded with those wolves and they with you."

"The kids were the worst. I taught them art and some basic cooking. Rachel will never do that with them. I made people cry just because I congratulated them on a job well done! They were just doing their jobs and thinking they were doing terrible mom!" Crying now I sat up, and let her pull me into a tight embrace.

"You did what you could in the time you were given baby. One day you'll go back, not for Daniel but for those wolves and yourself. That's what a Luna does." She murmured holding me tight. Letting me cry, I eventually stopped when only small hiccups were coming out.

Glancing at the clock, I hopped up off the bed and pulled her hand towards the door. "Come on mom! We have to make lunch!" Going across to Hank's door, I banged on it while my mom walked down to the kitchen. Finally he came to the door.

"What you doing in there?" I asked peeking around.

"Daniel called. Wanted to make sure we arrived ok."

"Oh." I said.

"Yeah. He asked if your parents were going to let me stay. I guess he called and told them everything." He told me.

"Yeah, mom just mentioned everything trying to make sure I was ok. Makes sense why my dad growled at you." I told him. Grabbing his hand I led him downstairs. Shooing him to the island, I went to help mom put out the lunch stuff. Grabbing bowls of lettuce and the toppings I set them out on the bar followed by meats, bread, cheese and condiments. Making a few sandwiches for me and Hank I grabbed his hand and walked with him towards my waterfall. Munching on the sandwiches we fell into a companionable silence. Veering off the path we reached the tougher spot to climb. I shoveled the last of my sandwich into my mouth and chewed quickly, glancing over at Hank I saw he mirrored my chipmunk look. Laughing at each other, we took a little break before hiking up the next couple of hills. Getting to the top I took a seat and patted the log next to me. Looking out at the waterfall and the pool at the bottom, I felt the rush of serenity take me over.
