I could see people running, running away from something. A swarm of bodies rushed around me, knocking me to the ground. I tried to get up and run away from the danger, but my feet wouldn't move. Someone was yelling at me to try harder, but I ignored their advice, giving up and watching the sceene unfold. For some reason I felt like something bad was going to happen to me, I embraced my fear and steadied myself for the first blow. Except it never came. Less then three meters away from me, a small child was pulled down onto their knees. A gun pointed at their head. I opened my mouth to scream, but nothing came out. The only thing I could see was the life leaving the child's bright green eyes. I felt like I was suffocating, or drowning, and finally a scream ripped out of my chest. The captor turned around "Kyndell!"
"Kyndell! Wake up!"
My eyes shot open and met a pair of chocolate iris's. The one and only Sam Pottorff. I could feel tears running down my cheeks, and for a second I couldn't remember why I was crying.
Then I remembered the green eyes.
I couldnt help it. I pulled myself onto Sam and cried my eyes out.
We were in a huge white van with tinted windows, headed to who knows where, with three other members of o2l and my best friend. How did this happen? Good question. I don't really know how everything turned out the way it did. Long story short, we were trying to get away from my psychopathic ex boyfriend, Neal.
My life.
Sam kept telling me that it was just a dream and everything was okay, but this nightmare was different from the others, it felt so real.
I stopped crying, but couldn't stop shaking. Sam still had his arms wrapped around me, gently running his hand through my tangled hair.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked making me look at him. I slowly nodded and finally noticed that we were alone in the van.
"Where is everyone?"
"They went in to eat." We were parked at an Arby's. "We haven't left California yet." My stomach dropped. We needed to hurry, Neal isnt going to be happy when he notices we left.
I guess my face showed how terrified I was because Sam noticed.
"Don't worry, I'm here, he can't do anything." Sam tilted my chin up and locked lips.
I looped my arms around his neck and let myself let go. He tightened his grip on my waist and pulled me onto his lap. You never really understood how curly Sam's hair is until your hands are in it. Sam could always make me happy, even if it was only for a second. Sam was my escape.
We broke apart when we heard the locks unlock. Ricky, Kian, Jc, and Katheraine piled into the van, completely oblivious to my meltdown. I stayed on Sam's lap, his arms still wrapped around me and I intended on staying there for a while. Maybe even a lifetime.
