Kyndell's P.O.V.
Sam and I walked in Kian's room to find everyone else waiting. Ricky was scrolling through his phone, Jc had his arms wrapped around the visibly pregnant women in his lap, Trevor was glaring at Jc, Connor was whispering something to Kayla, Sidney was looking for something outside the window, and Kian looked oddly calm.
"What took you two so long?" Jc asked, wiggling his eyebrows. I blushed dark red and turned to Sam.
"Some elderly lady needed to be escorted onto the elevator." Sam made it sound like it was a question.
"Uh huh, I bet there was a kitten stuck up one of the plastic trees in the lobby too!" Trevor yelled, making everyone laugh. I hid my face in Sam's shirt until the laughing subsided. Katherine gave me a a sympathetic look. After all, she had to go through the same torment.
"Sidney, how much longer until your friends get here?" Connor asked, giving Kayla a quick kiss before joining Sidney by the window.
"Any minute now." Sidney stared into the parking lot. Looking closer, she squinted into the darkness and her eyes widened. Without warning, she stretched her hand to the light switch and flickered the lights about seven times. "They're here." She said, walking to the door.
Everyone seemed to tense up. Even though I already knew the two girls, I still felt my body stiffen.
We only had about two seconds before our lives got even more complicated. A new chapter would unfold the second those two children walked through the door.
But the future is inevitable, so I just tightened my grip on Sam and peered at the door.
Kian's P.O.V.
I can't believe the monster that kidnapped my baby sister was about to come into my hotel room and talk with me. Hell, I invited the monster that kidnapped my baby sister into my hotel room to talk. Smart, huh? No one to blame but myself. If I had been there then she would still be safe at home.
But I wasn't. So now she was in some warehouse with a bunch of other kidnapped girls and a mad man.
My little sister.
Captive.
A shiver ran down my spine as the door knob turned.I took a deep breath and prepared myself to meet these people. The door creaked open.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't an extremely tiny blonde child.
She looked so innocent. So young. So, so, skinny. Was this the same demon who stole my sister?
She looked up at me and I felt my heart break. Her eyes showed everything I had hoped they wouldn't. Fear, hope, guilt and most of all, apology. It was hard to hate someone with eyes like that.
"I'm so sorry." Her small hands covered her concave face as she sobbed. No one seemed to know what to do except stare.
At that moment I decided to be the bigger man. There really wasn't any other option. I stepped towards the girl. She looked up at me with fear in her eyes, flinching with every step I took. Her sobs became more strangled as she watched me approach.
I stared down at the girl and thenwrapped my arms around her. Her body jumped as if she'd been electrocuted. After a few seconds of shock, she gradually settled into my embrace, her curly head resting on my stomach.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, he made me, I didn't want to do it, he would've killed me," She kept gasping out apologies while crying into my shirt. Then I realized that I should've never been blaming this girl, she was only doing what she had to in order to survive. It wasn't her fault.
It was Neal's.
He was the one who had hurt everyone.
He was the one who would pay.
Not the girl who had yet to stop sobbing into my chest.
"I forgive you." I whispered into her ear and she looked up at me in surprise.
"Really?" She asked, tear streaks going down her face.
"Yeah, no reason to cry." I smiled, brushing away stray tears. She gave me a weak smile back.
"Thank you." She stepped back and looked around the room, stopping when her eyes met Sidney's. "Sidney!" She dashed across the room and hugged the slightly taller girl. "I missed you!"
"I missed you too, Astrid." Sidney said.
The 'girl's name was Astrid. Huh.
Another extremely skinny girl walked into the room, looking around nervously. "Joanna!" Sidney squealed.
And I mean squealed. I think my left eyelid just ruptured.
The three girls did a weird circle-hug-jumpy thing while the rest of us just stared. You wouldn't expect three of Neal's best life destroyers to be jumping around like sugar crazed fangirls. Yeah, pretty strange.
"Sorry to break up this reunion, but let's get back to the matter at hand. How are we going to bring down Neal?" Connor asked, making the girls separate.
"Oh yeah, sorry." Sidney blushed, motioning for Joanna to continue.
"I just came from the warehouse he's keeping them in, and it's not pretty." She looked down at her shoes.
"Is my sister there?"
"Yes, she is, but he's not going to keep her there long. Once he realizes what's going on he'll relocate."
I made up my mind. "Then we are leaving tomorrow morning."
Everyone started murmuring. "Kian, are you sure that's such a good idea?" Jc asked, peeking his head around Katherine's baby bump. "We have no plan."
"We will have a plan, but I can't lose my sister." That put a stop to any kind of defiance. I turned back to Joanna. "So where exactly is this warehouse?"
"Abingdon, Virginia."
"Virginia! That's all the way across the country!" I yelled, throwing my hands in the air. "How are we going to get there!"
"By plane... Duh." Kyndell said.
"Oh yeah. Ricky, look up the next flight to Virginia. Book us twelve tickets." He nodded and started typing away on his phone. "Now for the plan... Any ideas?"
Silence.
"I guess we can figure it out tomorrow, did you get the next flight time?" I asked Ricky.
"Yeah, the next flight is at three a.m." Numerous groans spread throughout the room.
"Okay guys, start packing. We have a long day ahead of us."
